CBI, ED framed Manish Sisodia in purported liquor scam; will file cases against central agencies, says Arvind Kejriwal

Day after he was summoned by the CBI for questioning, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday alleged that that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) “framed” his former deputy Manish Sisodia in the purported liquor policy scam case by forging evidence and he will file cases against the central agencies for perjury.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief accused two probe agencies of lying under oath and misleading the court to frame Sisodia, who was arrested by the CBI in February in connection with the alleged excise policy scam.
Kejriwal said that appropriate cases will be filed against the ED and the CBI for “perjury and producing false evidence” while also claiming that the two federal agencies are catching someone every day and torturing them—mentally and physically—to force them to name Delhi ministers in the excise policy case.
He alleged that Arun Pillai and Sameer Mahendu were tortured by the ED and forced to take names.
The Delhi CM also questioned ED’s claim about the Rs 100 crore kickbacks, asking why they haven’t found any of it yet even after so many raids…” Manish Sisodia’s bed was torn apart, yet, not even a single piece of jewellery has been recovered.”
He also refuted the ED’s charge that the money received from the alleged kickbacks in the now-scrapped liquor policy was used by the AAP for poll campaign in Goa.
Arvind Kejriwal also took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the presser. Citing former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik, who had alleged that some chief ministers under PM Modi are corrupt, he said that chief minister don’t keep the money to themselves…” They send it to the higher authorities. From there, the money gets invested into the companies of their friends.”
The Delhi CM said that no party has been “targeted” like the AAP in 75 years of independent India, adding that they have arrested his number 2 and number 3 (Sisodia and Satyender Jain) and now are coming for him.
Asked if the CBI will arrest him, Kejriwal took a shot at the BJP, saying that saffron party has been telling newsmen since yesterday that he will be arrested… “now if the BJP has given them the order, who is CBI to say no?”
Arvind Kejriwal has been summoned by the CBI for questioning at the agency’s headquarters at 11 am on Sunday as a witness in the Delhi excise policy scam case.
