Weather forecast

Delhi-NCR has not been witnessing a sunny day today but still, there is no respite from the heatwave. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted a cloudy sky and said that there is a possibility of light rain in some parts.

It is reported that the maximum temperature is likely to settle at 43 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, humidity has been recorded at 42 per cent.

Meanwhile, IMD has issued a yellow alert and has warned of a heatwave in parts of Delhi today. Experts have also attributed the heatwave speel to the lack of strong western disturbances and incessant hot and dry westerly winds. They also said a respite from the scorching heat will be likely from June 15-16.

According to IMD’s seven-day forecast, thunderstorms are on the forecast from Thursday to Sunday and the maximum temperature is likely to drop from 42 degrees Celsius on Wednesday to around 36 degrees on Sunday.

The minimum temperature has also been high at night over the past two days and it settled above 30 degrees Celsius on June 12 and 13. On Sunday, the minimum temperature was 32.8 degrees Celsius and on Monday it was 31.6 degrees Celsius. It is reported that the minimum temperature will remain around 32 degrees Celsius trill June 16 and is likely to drop around 26 degrees from June 19.

IMD scientist RK Jenamani said that the summer this year from March till May 20, did not record any significant amount of rainfall. The western disturbances brought thunderstorms and rain after May 20 and the temperatures started to rise again in June as another dry spell took over the city.

He also said that in June, some locations in the city started recording around 10 heatwave days.

The complaint was filed at the DB Marg police stations and their team is trying to get more information about the same. As per reports, later the case was handed over to NIA after a mysterious death case took over the headlines. The victim was none other than the Thane-based businessman Mansukh Hiren.

For the unversed, Hiren was the owner of the Scorpio car that was found outside Mukesh Ambani’s residence. Earlier, the late businessman had claimed that the car was stolen a week ago.
