Bollywood veteran Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja are making headlines amid rumors of their separation after 37 years of marriage. According to multiple media reports, the couple has been living apart for some time, but no official confirmation has come from either side.
Living separately for a while?
As per reports, Govinda and Sunita have been staying in different houses due to lifestyle differences. In an interview, Sunita Ahuja mentioned that while she resides in their apartment with their children, Govinda prefers staying in his bungalow due to his late meetings and social gatherings.
“We have two houses—a bungalow opposite our apartment. I stay in the flat with my kids, while Govinda often stays in the bungalow as he loves socializing. I feel talking too much drains energy, so we don’t talk a lot,” she shared.
Alleged affairs and personal differences
Speculation suggests that Govinda’s rumored closeness with a Marathi actress may have contributed to their troubled marriage. However, there has been no direct comment on this from either of them.
Meanwhile, sources claim that Sunita had sent a legal separation notice months ago, but no further legal action has been taken.
Govinda’s team responds
When contacted, Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, acknowledged tensions between the couple but downplayed the divorce rumors. He attributed their issues to certain family statements and assured that they are working on resolving the matter.
“There have been conflicts due to statements made by certain family members, but there’s nothing more to it. Govinda is focusing on his new film, and that’s why artists have been visiting his office,” Sinha clarified.
Sunita’s candid remarks on their marriage
In a lighthearted comment about her marriage, Sunita Ahuja once quipped, “I have told him that in my next life, he should not be my husband. He never goes on holidays! I want to go out and enjoy simple things like eating pani-puri on the streets, but he has always been too focused on work.”
Govinda and Sunita tied the knot in March 1987 but kept their marriage a secret until after the birth of their daughter, Tina, in 1988. They later had a son, Yashvardhan, in 1997.
As rumors continue to swirl, fans eagerly await an official statement from the couple regarding the state of their marriage.
