Madhya Pradesh to introduce an act to monitor online gaming after 11-year-old commits suicide
According to the police, an 11-year-old boy Suryansh from Madhya Pradesh committed suicide due to his addiction to online gaming.

Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Thursday announced that the state government will soon introduce a law to monitor online gaming. This move has come after the 11-year-old allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself due to an online mobile game- Free Fire. Earlier in August, the government also filed a police case against the developers of the Free Fire game.
Considering this issue, Mishra stated that online gaming is a serious issue. To prevent such tragic incidents that are happening, we are bringing an act regulating online gaming in Madhya Pradesh, whose draft has been prepared and we will soon finalise it.
According to police, an 11-year-old boy Suryansh from Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal committed suicide by hanging himself with the rope of a punching bag installed on the rooftop of his home by his cousin Ayush.
Bhopal’s Additional Commissioner of Police, Sachin Atulkar, issued a statement in which he stated, a boy was found dead in his home after reportedly committing suicide. According to his parents, the child spent around Rs 6,000 without their consent on an online game. Parents had deleted the app once. The investigation is still in progress.
However, no suicide note has been found at the location of the incident, according to the police. Suryansh Ojha, a resident of Shankaracharya Nagar Bajaria, was a class 5 student. Suryansh’s father, an optician named Yogesh Ojha, informed the police that his son was hooked to an online game.
Suryansh was watching a movie on TV with cousin Ayush in the second-floor room on Wednesday afternoon. Ayush walked downstairs after a few minutes, leaving Suryansh alone. Suryansh’s cousins returned to the building’s terrace after some time and saw him hanging from a punching bag rope. His relatives rushed him to a private hospital, but the doctor confirmed him dead after a thorough examination, stated the police.
This is not the first time such type of incident has happened in Madhya Pradesh. In January 2021, a 12-year-old child committed suicide in Dhana, Sagar district, after his father took away his phone due to the latter’s addiction to the Free Fire game.
An FIR was filed in Chhatarpur in August 2021 against the company that created the game. At the time, Home Minister Narottam Mishra had urged police across the state to take action against the creators of such compulsive games, which were baffling the youth and playing with their lives.
During that time, the boy who committed suicide, mentioned in a note, seeking an apology from his mother for withdrawing ₹40,000 from her UPI account and losing it in Free Fire sessions.

Wrestlers left to grapple with Delhi Police might, march fails, Jantar Mantar cleared
The wrestlers had called for a mahila samman mahapanchayat with support from farmers and khap panchayats from various states

The Delhi Police on Sunday cleared the protest area occupied by protesting wrestlers in Jantar Mantar after detaining several wrestlers, including women, on their march to the new Parliament building which was being inaugurated at that time.
The wrestlers had called for a mahila samman mahapanchayat with support from farmers and khap panchayats from various states. With Delhi Police declaring the area around Parliament a no-go zone in view of the ceremonies there today, the wrestlers were not allowed to proceed on their march from Jantar Mantar.
The wrestlers, Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia, were detained at Jantar Mantar when the protesters tried to clear the barricades and ended up breaking them.
Videos on Twitter showed a brawl between protesters and Delhi Police personnel as the latter tried to break up the altercation. A woman police officer can be seen taking a woman away from the protest scene in one of the videos.
Unfazed, Punia declared the mahapanchayat will take place today without fail. He said the wrestlers would continue their struggle for their self-respect. The Olympian bronze medallist said the Modi government was destroying democracy on the very same day it was inaugurating a new Parliament. He urged the authorities to free protesters who had been detained by police.
The borders into Delhi had been shut since the morning over the mahapanchayat timing with the Parliament inauguration. Traffic jams were legion along the peripheries of the city as farmers in tractors were refused entry into Delhi, leading to a long pile-up of traffic.
The wrestlers have been on protest since April 23 seeking action against Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the MP from Kaiserganj and a UP strongman, for sexually harassing women athletes.
The wrestlers have won widespread support from farmers who have now stepped in to seek justice for the exploited women.
