“Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s contributions in shaping the nation are invaluable. He not only had transformational ideas but he also had the solution to the most complex problems,” PM Modi said.
PM Modi also said that akin to previous two years, Patel’s birthday on the 31st of October will be celebrated by organizing ‘Run for Unity’ throughout the country.
On Sister Nivedita, whose 150th birth anniversary was held recently, PM Modi said she could have led an easy life but she chose to involve herself in serving the poor.
He also congratulated Indian sportspersons for their recent wins in International tournaments.
PM talked about the rising popularity of Khadi and handicraft. “From the days of ‘Khadi for Nation’, we came to see ‘Khadi for Fashion’, and now the country is moving towards ‘Khadi for Transformation’,” he said while adding that the sale of Khadi and handicraft has risen by 90% in a year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also emphasized on the importance of outdoor activities for the overall development of children. “It is a big surprise when we hear about children suffering from diabetes. One of the main reasons is the lack of physical activity in our lifestyle and the change in our eating habits,” he said.
He reminded the nation of importance of practicing Yoga for keeping physically and mentally fit.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
