On June 10, 2021, MK Stalin, the Chief Minister established a group of panels to investigate how the medical entrance test affects aspirants.
The notable figures such as Dr. GR Ravindranath, State Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan, Director of Medical Education Narayana Babu, and others are included in the Tamil Nadu committee which was already comprised of eight members.
The group presented a 165-page of study that outlined the specific effects of NEET. The committee solicited input from a variety of stakeholders before submitting the report. The committee presented its report and findings to Chief Minister MK Stalin on July 14, 2021.
NEET appears to have obviously damaged the diversified sociopolitical representation in MBBS and further medical studies, preferring mostly the inexpensive and privileged section of society while equally defeating the desire of impoverished socioeconomic groups pursuing medical education, the committee concluded.
