The strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 that occurred late on Friday has left 128 people dead in Nepal, according to reports. The government-run channel, said that over 140 persons were injured in the Jajarkot and Rukum districts in Western Nepal.
According to officials of the National Earthquake Measurement Centre, the epicentre of the earthquake was in the Lamidanda region of Jajarkot.
On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his sorrow over the deaths brought on by the earthquake in Nepal.

India is willing to provide all help that it can to the people of Nepal, with whom it stands in solidarity. The PM also said, we wish the wounded a speedy recovery and our prayers are with the grieving families.
All three of the nation’s security agencies have been called into action for the injured people’s quick rescue and relief, according to the office of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal of Nepal.
In the meantime, on Saturday, Prime Minister Dahal Prachanda took stock of the nation’s earthquake-affected regions.
According to the nation’s home ministry, reports of property damage and injuries were also coming from the districts of Dailekh, Salyan, and Rolpa.
A hospital in Jajarkot, which is roughly 500 miles west of Kathmandu, was caring for the injured.
A sequence of earthquakes struck Nepal on October 3, the biggest of which had a magnitude of 6.2. The tremors sent shockwaves to sections of North India, including the Delhi-NCR region.
