Railway policeman pours water on sleeping passengers at railway station to wake them up

The Railways Police has found a unique way of waking up passengers sleeping on the Railway station. In a video becoming viral on the social media a Railway policeman can seen pouring water on people who have been sleeping inside the train station waiting for the train. Such inhuman behavior by the Railway police makes the people question the heart of the people doing their job as a policeman.

Variety of comments started coming on on the video where Sandeepan Mitra said such small incidents  should be ignored keeping in mind the educational qualifications of the railway minister. He said the nation was lucky to have an IITian and a former IAS officer as our railway minister.

Imran Jan took a jibe at the Modi government saying PM Modi gave that speech in the US Congress saying that India was a wonderful nation on its path to greatness.

On the other hand Sitab Choudhary was curious to know why the police was misbehaving with the people in an inhuman way? He also asked did the police behave in this manner with the rich upper class of the society at the airport.

Another user, Riyaz said the video made him feel sad seeing the situation of the people on the platform.

Ashok Shekhawat questioned the very need of luxurious and high speed trains. He said the people were helpless to wait for the common class trains. Shekhawat added the government should resolve the common man issues first. He said it was the duty of the Railway police to serve the people of the country and not behave badly with the common man.

Another person reasoned that it was not acceptable to sleep on the floor of the railway platform. He added a trickle of water was harmless as compared to shouting or hitting the passengers. Kashif Siddiqui said the passengers should be treated with respect and dignity. Siddiqui added the people pay the government taxes which in turn pays the salaries of the policeman. He said the Railway should provide resting areas for the passengers.

Mamata Banerjee slams BJP over Maha Kumbh tragedy, calls it Mrityu Kumbh

The Maha Kumbh stampede that claimed 30 lives has sparked political outrage, with Mamata Banerjee and Akhilesh Yadav accusing the BJP of negligence and mismanagement.

Mamata Banerjee

The recent stampede at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, which led to the deaths of 30 people, continues to spark political outrage. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), blaming the ruling party for its alleged mismanagement of the mega religious event.

“This is the ‘Mrityu’ (death) Kumbh… I respect the Maha Kumbh and Ganga Maa, but there was no planning. How many bodies have been recovered?” Banerjee questioned in the Bengal Assembly. She pointed out the glaring lack of arrangements for devotees, particularly those from lower-income backgrounds, while alleging that VIP visitors were provided with luxury accommodations.

Opposition demands accountability

The opposition, led by Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, has been relentless in its criticism of the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh. Yadav highlighted the extent of the crisis by pointing out reports of a 300-km-long traffic jam around Prayagraj during the event.

“Devotees were stuck in a massive traffic jam. Is this ‘Viksit Bharat’? The government cannot even manage traffic. What is the point of going to the Moon when we cannot resolve issues on Earth?” Yadav asked in Parliament.

He also urged the authorities to extend the event beyond its scheduled end date of February 26, arguing that many pilgrims were still unable to reach the sacred site due to poor management.

Concerns over lack of planning

The opposition’s primary concern remains the alleged negligence in planning and execution. From train delays that caused chaos at New Delhi railway station to inadequate arrangements for the overwhelming crowd, critics argue that the government was unprepared for the influx of crores of devotees.

The UP government, however, has defended its handling of the event, boasting that over 50 crore people have already taken a dip at the ‘sangam’—the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers. Officials have maintained that the event is running smoothly despite challenges.

Political storm ahead of elections

With key elections approaching, the Maha Kumbh tragedy has turned into a major political flashpoint. The opposition is using the incident to corner the BJP, raising questions about its governance and ability to handle large-scale public events. Meanwhile, the BJP has touted the religious significance of the event and its successful execution despite the unfortunate incidents.

As investigations into the stampede continue, questions remain about accountability, transparency, and the safety measures that were—or weren’t—put in place for one of the world’s largest religious gatherings.

Cancer vaccine

In a significant breakthrough in cancer treatment, a vaccine aimed at combating cancers affecting women will be available within the next five to six months. Union Minister of State for Health, Family Welfare, and Ayush (Independent Charge) Prataprao Jadhav announced this during a press conference on Tuesday.

Vaccine trials nearing completion

The minister revealed that research on the vaccine is nearly complete, and clinical trials are currently underway. The vaccine will be available for girls aged between nine to 16 years, providing a preventive shield against certain types of cancer.

Government initiatives to tackle rising cancer cases

Highlighting the alarming rise in cancer cases across the country, Jadhav stated that the government has taken proactive measures to combat the disease. Women above the age of 30 will be screened at hospitals, while daycare cancer centers will be established for early detection and treatment.

Furthermore, the government has waived customs duty on cancer treatment medicines, making them more affordable for patients.

Which cancers will the vaccine target?

While responding to queries, the minister specified that the vaccine aims to provide protection against breast, oral, and cervical cancers—three of the most prevalent types affecting women in India.

Expansion of Ayush healthcare facilities

Discussing the expansion of traditional healthcare facilities, Jadhav stated that hospitals already have Ayush departments, offering alternative treatment options. He added that India currently has 12,500 such health facilities, and efforts are underway to expand them further.

The introduction of this vaccine is expected to be a major milestone in the fight against cancer, potentially saving countless lives through early intervention and prevention.
