Former mayor of Jodhpur Rameshwar Dadhich and close aide to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday.

This development occurs a few days before the state assembly elections.

At an event held at the party headquarters, Congress leader Vinod Sharma, a former zila pramukh of Dausa, joined the BJP alongside Jodhpur MP Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Rajasthan co-incharge Vijaya Rahatkar, RS MP Rajendra Gehlot, and former RS MP Narayan Pancharia.

Dadhich has spent the last forty years with Gehlot and is a vital part of the chief minister’s cabinet.

He also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s capacity for making decisive judgements has always impressed him.

The Ram temple issue had been hanging for a long time, but Modi made a decision and brought it to fruition, the speaker said.

The minister continued by saying that PM Modi was committed to raising the underprivileged and marginalised as well as the wellbeing of all societal segments. Sharma expressed similar opinions.

He claimed that Modi considers the nation’s overall growth. He had been impacted by his philosophy. Congress has discussed the OBC group but hasn’t taken any action to give them more influence.

The electoral contests on these seats are triangular because other BJP rebels, such as Priyanka Choudhary from Barmer, Chandrabhan Singh Akya from Chittorgarh, Yoonus Khan from Deedwana, Ravindra Bhati from Sheo, Banshidhar Bajiya from Khandela, Bhawani Singh Shekhawat from Kota’s Ladpura, Kailash Meghwal from Shahpura in Bhilwara, and Bhawani Singh Shekhawat from Kota have not withdrawn their nominations as independents.

However, Brahamdev Kumawat from Masuda, Mahendra Barjod from Chorasi in Dungarpur, Rajkaran Choudhary from Sardarshahr, and Prakash Choudhary, a former Congress MLA from Badi Sadari, have chosen to run as independents and have not withdrew from the election.

The election for the Rajasthan legislative assembly in 2023 is set for November 25, with the results being tallied on December 3.
