The toll stayed at 275 since the Odisha government did not modify it. Rinkesh Roy responded figures do change over time when questioned about it.

The number of death had previously been put at 288. On Sunday, the Odisha government changed it to 275 after admitting that some remains were tallied twice. The chief minister of West Bengal and a former minister of the railway, Mamata Banerjee, disputed the statistics, claiming that 61 residents of her state died and another 182 were still missing. The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) also said, 80 out of the 193 total bodies were recognised, and 55 of them were given to the relevant families.

However, train movement resumed late Sunday night with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who has been sleeping at the site to oversee restoration work, and with other senior officials. This was 51 hours after the triple train collision and barely five hours after the damaged rails were rebuilt.

The horrific accident took place on June 2, when the Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express was coming from Shalimar to Chennai when it collided with a halted goods train on the adjacent track, resulting in one of the deadliest rail accidents in the nation. The rear carriages of the Coromandel Express then drifted off onto the third track.

The last two coaches of the Bengaluru-Howrah Express, which was coming by at the same time, were knocked down by a few coaches of the Coromandel Express.

The Delhi Police today reached the home of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh. According to the specifics, the police showed up at Singh’s house to interrogate 12 persons, including the supporters, about the charges of sexual harassment against him.

The Delhi Police gathered the names, addresses, and identification cards of the witnesses at the scene for evidence.

In relation to the sexual harassment claims made against the WFI chief, 137 people have so far given statements to the Special Investigation Team (SIT). However, it was unknown if Singh was also questioned by the police at his home.

The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, which carries a maximum seven-year prison sentence upon conviction, was cited in one of the two FIRs the Delhi Police had previously filed against the WFI chief on April 28 at the Connaught Place police station.

He was charged in the FIRs that were filed in response to a Supreme Court decision under several Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections, including assaulting a lady to violate her modesty (section 354), sexual harassment (354A), and stalking (354D), all of which carry two- to three-year prison sentences.

Additionally, some of the complainants said Singh approached them while promising to help them in their jobs in exchange for sexual favours.

Singh has refuted every accusation and stated that if even one of them is found to be true, he will hang himself.

Meanwhile, yesterday wrestlers Sakhee Mallik and Bajrang Punia returned to their jobs in railways. They said, they will continue the protest but also do their jobs. This comes after meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence on Saturday night where wrestlers raise their demands against WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
