Inspiring! Sudhaa Chandran’s story of losing her leg proves that you do not have to stand up to stand out
Sudhaa Chandran had opened up about her tragic accident and the emotional turmoil she went through after the tragic accident in which she lost one of her legs.

India’s accomplished actor and Bharatnatyam dancer, Sudhaa Chandran is currently making headlines after she raised an indispensable issue of specially-abled senior citizens being grilled at airports. She sought help from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed her displeasure each time she is asked to remove her artificial limb by airport authorities.
The 56-year-old actor released a video on her Instagram handle and urged PM Modi to provide a special card for people like her at the airport. Sharing the video she wrote that she’s totally hurt as she has to go through the grill every time she travels. She further added that she hopes her message reached the state and central government authorities and she expects prompt action.

How did Suddha Chandran lose her leg?
In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Sudhaa Chandran had opened up about her tragic accident and the emotional turmoil she went through after the accident. She said that she began training for dance when she was 3 and a half years old.
By her 10th exam, she had performed at several events and done hundreds of stage shows. When she thought that everything is falling at the right place, a tragic accident changed her life completely.
Elaborating about the accident, Sudhaa said that she was travelling from Trichy by bus and the accident took place. She probably sustained the least injury among others. However, she was attended by a couple of interns who forgot to look after the cut on her right ankle. Due to medical negligence, she had to get her leg amputated.
Her passion for dance did not let her sulk in the pain. Suddha opted for an artificial limb so that she could dance again and thrive in her career. She stated that initially it was painful but after 3-4 months of practice and regular physiotherapy, she regained her confidence again.
There was no looking back for Sudhaa Chandran and she went on to give remarkable performances including Mayuri. She also bagged several prestigious accolades including a National Award, National Film Award-Special Jury Award.

According to a report, the film’s script has been finalized and shooting is set to begin in March of next year.

According to reports, the actor slipped while he was working in the kitchen and got injured. He was taken to hospital where he lost his life.
The 67-year-old actor is survived by his wife Suzanne Bernert, also an actor. The incident took place in Hyderabad, Telangana where he was shooting for an upcoming project.
Actor Manoj Bajpayee had extended his condolence on the death of veteran actor Akhil Mishra. He said the incident was unbelievably shocking.
Akhil was married to a German actor Suzanne Bernert in February 2009. Later in 2011, they got married as per the traditional rituals.
Akhil has worked in several movies like Gandhi, My Father, Don, Shikhar, Kamla Ki Maut, and Well Done Abba. He got his popularity as a librarian Dubey in 3 Idiots movie, starring Amir Khan, R Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Kareena Kapoor, Boman Irani, and Omi Vaidya among others.
The veteran actor was also seen in famous TV shows like CID, Udaan, Hatim and Uttaran among others.
Suzanne Bernert has also worked in several Television shows such as Porus, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Savdhaan India, Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat.
Earlier, Akhil Mishra and his wife Suzanne worked together in the movie Kram. They have worked in TV Shows together like Dewaana, a Doordarshan serial.
They worked in a short film named Manju Ki Juliet as well in 2019.
His last rites were held on September 21 at 3:30 pm at Indralok near Golden Nest. Suzanne had made all the arrangements and preparations for the cremation. She said that her heart was broken and her second half had gone forever.
