The student’s uncle accused that the 13-year-old student was beaten by his teacher in his school near his village.

Shravasti district’s Superintendent of Police (SP) Arvind K Maurya said that the student’s uncle filed a police complaint stating that he was beaten by his school teacher on 8 August.

Last week, a nine-year-old Dalit boy died after allegedly being thrashed by his school teacher in Rajasthan’s Jalore district. BJP’s state president Satish Poonia alleged that the incidents of Dalit atrocities have happened one after another in the last three-and-a-half years.

He alleged that the incidents were happening because the state government and the chief minister were weak. The guilty must be punished at the earliest.

He said that when our country was celebrating its 75th year of independence, such an incident forced us to think about where we were standing. Society was made up of unity and harmony, and for us society was paramount.

Demanding President’s rule in Rajasthan, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati said that such painful casteist incidents happened almost every day in Rajasthan. This incident was a clear example to show that the Congress government has failed in protecting the life and dignity of people, especially the Dalits, tribals, and the neglected.
