In a three-decade-old case, the Muzaffarnagar court on Friday sentenced a man to six months in prison for selling adulterated milk 32 years ago. The complaint in this matter was registered against the milk vendor on April 21, 1990, by Food Inspector Suresh Chand.

The Prosecution officer Ramavtar Singh said a sample of the milk sold by Harbir Singh was collected and sent to the laboratory for inspection where it was found to be adulterated.

Finding him guilty in this case, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Prashant Kumar also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the accused milk seller along with six months’ imprisonment.

A similar incident occurred in Bareilly a few months ago, when a milk vendor was sentenced to six months in prison and a Rs 1,000 fine for selling adulterated milk 20 years ago.
