Veteran sports journalist Boria Majumdar is likely to be banned for two years after a three-member BCCI committee found him guilty of intimidating India wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha over an interview request.

The BCCI told that Boria Majumdar can now neither enter any stadiums in India nor meet the players. The BCCI will also write to ICC to blacklist him. The board also directed the players not to engage with him, the report said.

The incident came to light this year in February when Saha tweeted the screenshot of his conversation with the journalist which showed how Majumdar threatened the cricketer to appear in an interview.

After all of his contributions to Indian cricket, this is what he faces from a so-called respected journalist! This is where journalism has gone, Saha said in his Twitter post on February 19.

The journalist had also said that he will be taking legal action against the cricketer. In his video posted on Twitter, Majumdar said that Saha is selectively making some of the tweets public which misconstrues the fact.

Following Sunday’s IPL 2024 encounter between Mumbai and Chennai at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was delighted to meet MS Dhoni. Bumrah, who recently defeated RCB by taking five wickets, expressed his happiness by uploading a photo of himself with the former CSK skipper.

Shortly after the match, Bumrah entered the CSK dressing room and engaged in conversation with the great Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Since then, the video, which IPL posted on X, has been making the rounds on the Internet.

Sharing the image, Bumrah wrote, met Mahi bhai after so long, felt good to catch up. In the image the two were seen wearing their team’s jerseys while posing for camera.

Soon after Bumrah shared the image, it quickly went viral. A user said, love for the mini-reunion. A second user said two legends in one frame. A third user said want to see playing together. Others also dropped hearts and fire emojis in the comments section.

After hitting 3 sixes and an undefeated 20 off only 4 balls against MI, Dhoni made headlines. The 42-year-old took Hardik Pandya to task after coming out to bat in the final over of CSK’s innings, smacking the bowler for three straight sixes.

In response to Dhoni’s blow, Chennai scored an incredible 206 for 4. Then, after Matheesha Pathirana claimed four wickets, CSK restricted MI to 186 for 6.

Dhoni is without a doubt one of the greatest cricket players of all time, and this is evident in the manner that both current and previous players describe him.

The bowling coach for CSK Eric Simons praised Dhoni after the game for his ability to get off to a fast start.

It was remarkable that he was able to hit the first ball so hard for six and keep going. Throughout the preseason and into the tournament, he has been hitting incredibly effectively in the nets. Simons described it as just another amazing MS Dhoni moment, he said.

Meanwhile, Dhoni became the first Indian player to knock three consecutive sixes in the opening three balls of an IPL innings in addition to reaching 5000 runs for CSK.
