Savdhan India actor Preetika Chauhan arrested by NCB in drugs case
Following the incident, the actor who has worked in serials like Savdhaan India and Devo Ke Dev Mahadev will be produced in the Killa court of Mumbai. She belongs to Himachal Pradesh and had debuted on the small screen in the year 2015.
The Narcotics Control Bureau on Sunday arrested Savdhaan India actor Preetika Chauhan from Mumbai’s Versova district for allegedly supplying drugs. In the recent development, the NCB caught the actor red handed for buying drugs. The police claimed that the actor were involved in the consumption and distribution of drugs.
Following the incident, the actor who has worked in serials like Savdhaan India and Devo Ke Dev Mahadev will be produced in the Killa court of Mumbai. She belongs to Himachal Pradesh and had debuted on the small screen in the year 2015.
Preetika’s arrest is another major hit for NCB after they were able to decode the drug abuse angle in Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case. The Officials from NCB raided two places in Mumbai’s Versova district in plain clothes and arrested five people in the operation which is still going on.
Earlier, the drug probing agency NCB had arrested Rhea Chakraborty along with her brother Showik Chakraborty in the drug angle of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput death case. The investigation into Bollywood’s connection with drugs began when the Enforcement Directorate retrieved Rhea Chakraborty’s WhatsApp chat in which she was allegedly discussing drugs with her friends. Following which the Bollywood actors like Deepika Padukone, Sharddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, and Rakul Preet Singh were also questioned by the NCB. However, the NCB had not found any concrete evidence against the actors that would link them to any drug abuse case.

The NCB is keeping an eye on trade routes of drug smuggling. The agency also informed the Customs Department of the country about the drugs racket. Following which the agency has seized several drug parcels imported from foreign countries in the last few months. According to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs Mumbai has emerged as a major destination for drugs.
Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai home on June 14. The Central Bureau of Investigation is probing his death case.

Odisha Literary Festival: CM Naveen Patnaik praises PM Modi for steps taken to eradicate corruption

He said his father (ex CM Biju Patnaik) had reserved 33 percent of the seats women in the local elections. He stressed on the fact he had increased the women’s reservation to 50 percent.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the steps taken to eradicate corruption. Patnaik was speaking to the media at the Odisha Literary Festival. He rated the Modi government 8 out of 10. Patnaik appreciated the Centre’s foreign policy and many other matters as well. Patnaik said there had been less corruption in the BJP government.

Patnaik said the BJD had fielded women candidates in 33 percent of the Lok sabha seats in Odisha in the 2019 elections. The BJD president said he supported the central government’s idea of one nation, one election.He said his government welcomed the idea and were prepared for it.
Patnaik was asked about his government’s relationship with the BJP government at the Centre. The Odisha CM said he has a very cordial relationship with the Centre. He said he was interested in the development of the state. Patnaik added the relationship with the Union government is very important for development.
Patnaik said Politics did not had to be dirty. He said it is a tool for serving the people of India. He said the Odisha government leaving no stone unturned for the eradication of poverty and the all round development of the state. Patnaik said the Odisha government had a great programme called Mission Shakti in which 7 million women from Odisha are involved in the empowerment of Women.

Bihar: 2 die, 3 lose eyesight after consuming spurious liquor in Muzaffarpur
Two people died while three people lost their eyesight in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur after consuming spurious liquor, as per the police.

Police have received information that two people died after their health suddenly deteriorated. In the prima facie inquiry, it has been told that they both had consumed country-made liquor. We have arrested two people. Further probe underway, the Superintendent of Police Abhishek Dixit said after two people died after allegedly consuming spurious liquor in Muzaffarpur.
According to reports, one of the victims, Dharmendra Ram, has revealed that he consumed spurious alcohol after purchasing from Shiv Chandra Paswan, who generally sells adulterated and low-quality liquor, due to which he lost his eyesight.
He started losing his vision after consuming two glasses of low-quality liquor, which cost him Rs 100.
Police, based on the victim’s statement, have arrested two people. One of the arrested persons is a local resident and has been jailed in the past as well in a liquor-related case.
For interrogation, police have also detained accused Shiv Chandra Paswan’s wife and daughter.
Police confirmed that the deaths and loss of eyesight happened due to the consumption of spurious alcohol.
Earlier this year in April, a shocking case was reported from Bihar’e Motihari district where at least 5 people died after consuming illicitly made liquor while twelve others were rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.
The incident was reported from Laxmipur Village of Motihari district in Bihar. The cases of spurious liquor creating hazardous health problems and death of people in Bihar have been in focus for quite some months now. Earlier in January this year it was reported from Siwan that four people died post consuming the spurious liquor after which the Police arrested 16 people who were involved in the storage and trading of alcohol in the state.
Purchase, sale and trade of liquor stands banned in Bihar since April 2016 after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took this move to impose a complete prohibition on the sale and consumption of alcohol in the state.

During the G20 Summit in New Delhi, US principal deputy national security advisor Jon Finer announced an unprecedented and ground-breaking infrastructure initiative involving a railway and shipping corridor that will improve trade, energy, and digital connectivity.
Speaking to reporters, Finer drew an indirect but striking comparison between China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the project, saying it will close a significant infrastructure gap and be high-standards, transparent, sustainable, non-coercive and based on the demand signal from the region instead of being an imposition.
BRI is heavily attacked for entangling nations in unmanageable debt, as well as for being opaque, forceful, and sacrificing standards.
Finer claimed that the project is consistent with the greater West Asian agenda of the Joe Biden administration.
