Traditional Janmashtami foods for Krishna bhog in 2023: At this time of year, we fill our plates with buttermilk, makkhan, and sweets in celebration of Krishna Janmashtami, throwing the calorie count out the window. It is said that Lord Krishna was born on this fortunate day.

Here are some traditional dishes that you can prepare today to offer Lord Krishna:

Panjiri

The Panjiri is regarded as this festival’s most significant Prasad. This nutritious treat is well-liked in the Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Punjab regions of the nation and is made with coriander seed powder, powdered sugar, desi ghee, cashew nuts, almonds, pistachios, mishri, and raisins. It is thought to be beneficial for the gut.

Kheer

This delectable holiday dessert dish is made with milk, dry fruits, rice, sabudana, or makhana and has a rich flavour of cardamom and saffron. This delicious meal, which is regarded as full and mouthwatering, is served to Lord Krishna as part of the Chaapan Bhog festival of Janmashtami at midnight.

Maakhan Misri

It is believed that Lord Krishna prefers this kind of offering. This basic dish is simple to prepare at home and can be done with homemade sugar, misri, or fresh handmade butter.

Honey with Milk

The milk and honey-based drink is an essential part of the Janmashtami puja meal. It is offered to Lord Krishna and subsequently distributed among devotees as a representation of cleanliness.

Gopalkala

This easy dish, which is also referred to as food of the poor, is created with beaten rice, cucumber, coconut, curd, ghee, sugar, and toasted cumin seeds. The ingredients are combined, then formed into laddoos and presented to Lord Krishna during midnight rituals.

Rava Laddoo

The ingredients for this wholesome and nutrient-dense laddoo are roasted rava, grated coconut, dry fruits, almonds, sugar, and a lot of ghee. Lord Krishna because he is supposed to adore ghee and butter and offering food to the needy is considered to be the best way to honour him. 

Sabudana Khichdi

With soaked sabudana, green chilli, peanuts, sendha namak, tomato, and ghee, this dish is intended to be light. After breaking your fast, sabudana Khichdi, which is regarded as a nutritious snack food, will provide you immediate energy.

Miss World contestants, accompanied by Julia Morley, chairman and CEO of the Miss world Organisation, visited the Raj Ghat, also known as the Gandhi memorial, on Monday, where they paid their respects to Mahatma Gandhi. The 71st Miss World participants also visited the Gandhi Museum.

The 71st Miss World will take place between February 18 and March 9 which will unfold across various venues, including the Bharat Manadapam in New Delhi. 120 contestants from countries around the world will participate in various competitions and charitable initiatives, serving as ambassadors of change.

Julia Morley, chairman and CEO of the Miss World Organisation said in a statement that her love of India is no secret and having the 71st Miss World Festival in this country means a lot to her. She thanked Jamil Saidi for his herculean efforts to make the return of the event to India a reality. She said the Miss World Organization has assembled the best team for the 71st edition.

The 71st Miss World will end with a dazzling grand finale at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. India last hosted the international pageant in 1996. Manushi Chhillar was the most recent Indian to win the pageant, having bagged the crown in 2017. Previously, Reita Faria Powell, Aishwarya Rai, Diana Hayden, Yukta Mookhey, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas have also won the competition.

India is currently hosting Miss World 2024 in Delhi and Mumbai after 28 years. The competition will begin on  Februray 18, with the grand finale scheduled  on March 9, the 71st Miss World Pageant will feature 120 contestants from 120 countries and territories, which includes India and will feature various competitions and charitable initiatives. The 21-day fashion and beauty event will feature a variety of events that will empower young women as change agents and future leaders.

This day marks the birthday of the great Maratha Leader Shivaji I. He established Hindavi Swarajya. The warrior King Shivaji I was born at the Shivneri fort on the third day of the Krishna Paksha of the Phalgun month in the year 1551 of the Shalivahan Shaka. Chhatrapathi Shivaji, a great warrior King and was the founder of the Maratha Empire in the 17th century.

He was born on Februray 19, 1630. He is remembered for his valour, military tactics, and administrative skills. He established a sovereign Maratha Kingdom in the face of the Mughal and Adil Shahi Sultanate empire. The celebration of Chhatrapathi Shivaji Jayanti marks as a reminder of the impact of the Maratha Empire on Indian society and culture.

Emperor Shivaji’s principles of leadership, courage and social justice continue to inspire generations of Indians. On Chhatrapathi Shivaji Jayanti various events and processions are organised which include cultural programs, exhibitions and seminars, where people gather to pay homage to his legacy and learn about his contribution to Indian history. This year India is celebrating the 394th birth anniversary of the great Maratha ruler. The first celebrations of this festival started with the Maratha ruler Mahatma Phule in 1870 in Pune. These celebrations were taken forward by Bal Gangadhar Tilak.

Google Doodle celebrates Valentine’s Day 2024 with a special scientific twist. This year’s takes the user into the world of chemistry and uncover his perfect elemental match. Google Doodle says there is no stronger bond than love, especially when the chemistry is just right.

The interactive Doodle has a Chemistry Cu Pd where the user can take element personality quiz and understand which element one’ personality can relate to the most. It works similarly to the dating apps in which the user can select your ideal match element by swiping right. The user has a choice between Chlorine, Bromine, Hydrogen, Iodine, Nitrogen etc.

The origin of this day can be traced back to the story of St Valentine who is remembered for his selfless acts of help for couples. It is said St Valentine was sentenced to imprisonment and beheaded by Emperor Claudius II for solemnizing the marriage of couples secretely.

On the day of his execution, St Valentine sent a note to Julia, the blind daughter of the jailer which said Your Valentine. Since then, Valentine’s Day is celebrated every year on February 14. This day appreciates love in every form people to realize the most beautiful connection in our lives.
