Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt starrer Khalnayak turns 30; Madhuri shares adorable video

Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, and Jackie Shroff starrer action-crime film Khalnayak, which was released in 1993 was a huge hit. Even after 30 years, its soundtrack is still recognisable. Director Subhash Ghai announced the film’s re-release across all Mukta Cinemas screens in India on September 4 to honour this milestone.

On the same day, the cast and crew gathered for a joyful reunion. Even though the lead actor, Madhuri, was unable to attend in person, she gave the team her sincere greetings through video message.

Madhuri Dixit, who was unable to attend the occasion in person, shared an adorable video and congratulated the director Subhas Ghai and Mukta Arts for one of the most iconic films of the Indian film industry attaining a milestone. The actor said, congratulation to Mukta Arts, Subhash ji, and the entire Khalnayak team on reaching the milestone of 30 years.

The Dhak-Dhak actor also said in her post, that people still remember how much fun we had while making the movie. I sincerely appreciate the affection you have shown Khalnayak, and I hope you enjoy viewing it again in theaters, Madhuri said.

Dixit previously posted a video montage of movie stills with the famous song Choli Ke Peeche playing in the background on Instagram to express her delight for the film’s 30th anniversary. Celebrating 30 years of Khalnayak today, the actor captioned the video. She further appreciated the songs of that film and cherished the memories of that time as she wrote, incredible songs, everlasting memories, and immense love.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt, Subhash Ghai, Jackie Shroff, and others gathered in Mumbai to mark the legendary movie’s 30th anniversary. Alka Yagnik and Ila Arun, two popular singers for their work on the hit song Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai, were also present. They were delighted with the photographs and cut a special cake to celebrate the event.

Veteran actor Mushtaq Khan, who appeared in several Hindi films and was particularly remembered for his role in the 2007 comedy Welcome, has died at the age of 56.

Khan was known for playing supporting characters across Hindi cinema and had worked in films spanning several decades. His role as Balu in Welcome remains among his best-known performances.

Mushtaq Khan’s film career

Mushtaq Khan appeared in a wide range of films during his career. His filmography included Aashiqui, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Gopi Kishan, Krantiveer, Raja, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Jodi No. 1 and Hera Pheri.

He also featured in more recent films including Stree 2, Gadar 2, Baby John, Dhoom Dhaam and Jaat. His filmography lists acting work continuing into 2026.

In Welcome, Khan played Balu, a supporting character in the comedy starring Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor and other prominent actors.

Khan’s career also included television work, with his credits spanning a wide range of acting roles over the years.

Mushtaq Khan dies at 56

The actor’s death was reported on September 24, 2026. Reports said Khan had been undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with liver cancer and had been hospitalised for around 15 days. Further details surrounding his death were awaited in the initial reports.

Mushtaq Khan was 56. IMDb lists his date of birth as December 31, 1969.
