Amarnath Yatra 2022 is an annual Hindu pilgrimage that attracts thousands of Lord Shiva devotees from all over the world. After being suspended for two years due to the coronavirus pandemic, the sacred pilgrimage is all set to begin this year on June 30. The 43-day pilgrimage will conclude on August 11.

For the first time, devotees can access the helicopter service directly from Srinagar. Here’s how!
Devotees will start the pilgrimage from Srinagar to Panchtarni, which is the last stop point located at an elevation of 3,500 meters, from where a 6 km trek takes pilgrims to the holy Amarnath cave. From there, devotees can either walk to the holy cave or take a horse or palki to reach the holy shrine.
Earlier, the helicopter facility was only available from Baltal and Pahalgam, which is the twin route to reach the Amarnath shrine, and from Pahalgam, pilgrims either walk or take the help of ponies and a palanquin facility.
