Hariyali Teej is one of the most significant Hindu festivals in India. The majority of this festival is commemorated in North India, and married women keep fasts on this holy day in order to protect their husbands. In the month of Sawan, Hariyali Teej occurs on the third day of Shukla Paksha.

Watching closely for the Sawan special in Hindu mythology, Hariyali Teej is of enormous significance. The festival, which is celebrated with a great deal of fervour and extravagance, celebrates the marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. A wife observes fasting on this day to uphold her husband’s long life and to rejoice in their happy marriage.

This day, often referred to as Teej, Hariyali Teej, Choti Teej and Shravani Teej, is considered to be a very important occasion for married women. Even unmarried women fast for getting a good husband in their future.

Not only women observe fast, but also unmarried women keep fasting on this day. On this day, she performs sixteen Shringar in the same way as she did on the wedding day. Just like the bride’s hand is decorated with henna, in the same way, mehndi is also applied on Hariyali Teej. Women dress in new outfits during the occasion, usually green suits or sarees and wear green bangles due to their unique importance and apply henna too.

71st Miss World contestants visit Raj Ghat and pay respects to Mahatma Gandhi

The 71st Miss World will take place between February 18 and March 9 which will unfold across various venues, including the Bharat Manadapam in New Delhi. 120 contestants from countries around the world will participate in various competitions and charitable initiatives, serving as ambassadors of change.

Miss World contestants, accompanied by Julia Morley, chairman and CEO of the Miss world Organisation, visited the Raj Ghat, also known as the Gandhi memorial, on Monday, where they paid their respects to Mahatma Gandhi. The 71st Miss World participants also visited the Gandhi Museum.

The 71st Miss World will take place between February 18 and March 9 which will unfold across various venues, including the Bharat Manadapam in New Delhi. 120 contestants from countries around the world will participate in various competitions and charitable initiatives, serving as ambassadors of change.

Julia Morley, chairman and CEO of the Miss World Organisation said in a statement that her love of India is no secret and having the 71st Miss World Festival in this country means a lot to her. She thanked Jamil Saidi for his herculean efforts to make the return of the event to India a reality. She said the Miss World Organization has assembled the best team for the 71st edition.

The 71st Miss World will end with a dazzling grand finale at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. India last hosted the international pageant in 1996. Manushi Chhillar was the most recent Indian to win the pageant, having bagged the crown in 2017. Previously, Reita Faria Powell, Aishwarya Rai, Diana Hayden, Yukta Mookhey, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas have also won the competition.

India is currently hosting Miss World 2024 in Delhi and Mumbai after 28 years. The competition will begin on  Februray 18, with the grand finale scheduled  on March 9, the 71st Miss World Pageant will feature 120 contestants from 120 countries and territories, which includes India and will feature various competitions and charitable initiatives. The 21-day fashion and beauty event will feature a variety of events that will empower young women as change agents and future leaders.

Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar pay tribute to Chhatrapathi Shivaji on his birth anniversary

This day marks the birthday of the great Maratha Leader Shivaji I. He established Hindavi Swarajya. The warrior King Shivaji I was born at the Shivneri fort on the third day of the Krishna Paksha of the Phalgun month in the year 1551 of the Shalivahan Shaka. Chhatrapathi Shivaji, a great warrior King and was the founder of the Maratha Empire in the 17th century.

He was born on Februray 19, 1630. He is remembered for his valour, military tactics, and administrative skills. He established a sovereign Maratha Kingdom in the face of the Mughal and Adil Shahi Sultanate empire. The celebration of Chhatrapathi Shivaji Jayanti marks as a reminder of the impact of the Maratha Empire on Indian society and culture.

Emperor Shivaji’s principles of leadership, courage and social justice continue to inspire generations of Indians. On Chhatrapathi Shivaji Jayanti various events and processions are organised which include cultural programs, exhibitions and seminars, where people gather to pay homage to his legacy and learn about his contribution to Indian history. This year India is celebrating the 394th birth anniversary of the great Maratha ruler. The first celebrations of this festival started with the Maratha ruler Mahatma Phule in 1870 in Pune. These celebrations were taken forward by Bal Gangadhar Tilak.

Google Doodle celebrates Valentine’s Day 2024 with a special scientific twist. This year’s takes the user into the world of chemistry and uncover his perfect elemental match. Google Doodle says there is no stronger bond than love, especially when the chemistry is just right.

The interactive Doodle has a Chemistry Cu Pd where the user can take element personality quiz and understand which element one’ personality can relate to the most.
