Following his release, Kejriwal made his first public speech in which he encouraged people to save the country from dictatorship.

Kejriwal has been given bail by the Supreme Court until June 1st in order to campaign in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. One of the main figures in the INDIA alliance that was established to challenge Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the elections is Arvind Kejriwal.

More than a thousand delighted supporters greeted the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party as he left Tihar Jail on Friday night. He addressed the assembly, saying, they have to save this country from dictatorship. He said he is fighting against it with all of his might.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will have a busy day today as he is scheduled to visit the Hanuman temple and conduct two massive roadshows in the national capital. Kejriwal was granted interim relief by the Supreme Court until June 1 in the liquor policy case.

Following his arresrt by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21 in connection with a money laundering case involving the now-scrapped Delhi liquor policy, Kejriwal left Tihar Jail on Friday. In order to campaign for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, he was granted temporary release.

The Hanuman temple in Connaught Place is set to host the AAP national convenor today at 11 a.m. At 1 pm, he will then speak at a press conference held at the party office. Following that, Kejriwal would conduct two roadshows to support the AAP candidates: one in South Delhi at 4 p.m. and one in East Delhi at 6 p.m.

Kejriwal is currently free on bail, but his presence should improve the AAP’s chances in a number of states, including Punjab and Delhi, where the party has put up candidates. Punjab’s and Delhi’s Lok Sabha elections are scheduled for June 1 and May 25, respectively.

AAP has fielded Sahi Ram Pahalwan from the South Delhi Lok Sabha seat while Kuldeep Kumar is the party candidate from East Delhi. Somnath Bharti and Mahabal Mishra have been fielded from New Delhi and West Delhi, respectively.

In his first speech to thousands of supporters following his release from Tihar Jail, Kejriwal announced his return and asked for their help in his campaign to stop dictatorship in the nation.

Around 8:30 p.m., he arrived at his house in the Civil Lines neighbourhood, where he was greeted by AAP workers with dhol rhythms and slogans while flower blowers showered him with petals.

As the Lok Sabha elections approach their pivotal stages in the upcoming weeks, AAP officials declared that the temporary bail granted to Kejriwal will be a gamechanger for the campaign of both the AAP and the INDIA alliance.

Priyanka Gandhi says BJP seeks votes in the name of God instead of talking about inflation, jobs

Congress national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Friday alleged  BJP seeks votes in the name of God instead of talking about how it is going to control inflation or provide employment to people. Gandhi was addressing a number of nukkad sabhas in support of Congress candidate from Amethi Lok Sabha seat Kishori Lal Sharma where she said while the Prime Minister claims on national television that his government did in 10 years the work that was not done in the last 70 years, the situation on the ground level tells a different story.

Kishori Lal Sharma is contesting against sitting Amethi MP Smriti Irani. The BJP leader had wrested the seat, which was considered a Gandhi family stronghold, from Rahul Gandhi in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.  Priyanka Gandhi targeted Smriti Irani and said her sole intention was to beat Rahul Gandhi.

She said, the Amethi MP and BJP people come at the time of the elections but do not talk about how they will control inflation, improve farming or provide employment to people of Amethi.  She added BJP comes to people’s houses and ask for votes in the name of God.

Did they not do this?  She said they are misleading the people. She asked why the BJP is not seeking votes in the name of work done in the past 10 years? She said everybody is religious and God and religion are very dear to all of them, but using religion for politics is wrong.

Gandhi recalled her family’s association with Amethi and said the tradition of politics here was such that it was a leader’s dharma to serve people and it was followed by all members of her family. She said the tradition was followed and so the people of Amethi always supported them and strengthened them. She said the relationship was such that they strengthened each other.
