Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Lok Sabha MP from Amroha Danish Ali, was suspended from the party for anti-party activities after BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri made offensive remarks to him in parliament.

A statement from Mayawati’s party on Saturday said, this is to inform that Mr. Danish Ali B.S.P. Lok Sabha MP from Amroha, Uttar Pradesh has been suspended from the party today 9.12.2023 due to anti-party activities.

The Amroha MP has been warned multiple times not to act or say things that go against the party’s principles, beliefs, and policies, according to the party statement.

It went on, yet he has been acting and working against the party despite all the warnings.

Ramesh Bidhuri, a BJP MP, caused a political uproar in September 2023 when he used derogatory remarks about Danish Ali in the Parliament. Speaker Om Birla had issued a warning to the BJP MP, threatening strict action if the behaviour continued. J P Nadda, the president of the BJP, also gave him a show-cause notice for his contentious remarks.

Bidhuri apologised on Thursday for his offensive comments made about Ali during a meeting of the Lok Sabha Privileges Committee, which heard the two leaders separately.

Earlier in November, opposition MPs had left the Parliament Ethics Committee meeting, including Danish Ali and Mahua Moitra of the TMC, who was expelled from the Lok Sabha due to suspicions of receiving cash-for-query.

On Friday, Mahua Moitra was ejected from the Lok Sabha following a majority vote in favour of the resolution.

The ethics committee chose to hang me without investigating the matter further. It declined to call the businessman to testify, and there is no proof of any money or gifts, she remarked outside the Parliament, to the cheers of the opposition leaders.
