Rajasthan: Congress denies reports of Sachin Pilot forming his own party says it will contest elections unitedly with CM Gehlot
Venugopal said, he does not believe in the rumours. He said senior party leader Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Malikkarjun Kharge had discussed the issue with Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot and Pilot.

The Congress on Friday, denied that senior party leader Sachin Pilot may form his independent party. Congress General secretary KC Venugopal said the party is united and will contest the upcoming elections in Rajasthan together.
Venugopal said, he does not believe in the rumours. He said senior party leader Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Malikkarjun Kharge had discussed the issue with Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot and Pilot. He said both of them had agreed that they will fight together in the upcoming elections in the state, the assembly election is due later this year.
He said he had met Pilot recently and was in contact with him. He advised the media to keep a positive outlook to the whole situation.
However, reports said, Pilot wants his demands to be met. The foremost demand being, the Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan should take action on the corruption that took place during the previous Vasundhare Raje led BJP government.
No action has been taken by the Congress yet in this regard. The former Rajasthan Deputy CM Pilot has taken firm ground over his demands and says the issues of paper leak and corruption are his top priority.
Two other demands of Pilot includes, new appointments should be made in the Rajasthan Public Service Commission and compensation should be given to those who have been affected by the cancellation of government recruitment exams following the paper leaks.
There has been intense speculation that Pilot will announce his own independent party on his father and former Congress Union Minister Rajesh Pilot’s death anniversary in Dausa, Rajasthan, the same place where the senior Pilot was a Lok Sabha MP.
The Congress party had made an announcement last week that unity of all members is the supreme agenda of the party and will contest the upcoming Rajasthan assembly elections unitedly after there was resistance from Pilot that he would not budge from his demands.
Constant efforts are being made by the Congress party to decrease the tensions between the two senior-most leaders of the party in Rajasthan Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot. As a result back to back meetings were held with Rahul Gandhi Kharge at his residence in Rajaji Marg earlier this week.
After the meeting both Gehlot and Pilot were seen together with Venugopal addressing the media, where it was said to the media that both the leaders setting aside their disagreement’s, are going to fight the polls unitedly to bring back the incumbent party to power in Rajasthan.

According to reports India has threatened to remove the diplomatic immunity of any candian diplomat if they remained in India after October 10.
Canada has currently a total of 62 diplomats in India. New Delhi has instructed Canada to decrease the number to 41 at their high commission. Boehm said PM Justin Trudeau does not expect to back down. He added India sees Canada as an easy mark. He said India is aware of Ottawa’s limited capacity to retaliate because of the presence of a minority government in Canada.
Trudeau is the leader of the Liberal Party. He shares power with Canadian Sikh leader and Indian origin Jagmeet Singh who is the head of the New Democratic Party in Canada. India had previously said it wanted an equal number of diplomats posted in the country and Canada. At the High commission in Delhi Canada has many diplomats compared to what India has in Ottawa.
Diplomatic crisis between Canada and India emerged after Canadian PM Justin Trudeau said the Canadian agencies have been actively pursuing credible allegation of a potential link the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar and the Indian government. India had stated Nijjar as a terrorist in 2020. India rejected Canada’s allegations and called them motivated and absurd.
Hardeep Singh Nijjar was the chief of the banned Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF). He was shot dead outside a Gurudwara in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada in the month of June. Ottawa expelled an Indian official over the case. India in response expelled a Canadian diplomat. Visa services were also expelled by the Indian government for Canadian citizens.
