After Rabri Devi, Lalu Yadav likely to be questioned by CBI tomorrow in land-for-jobs case
The Chargesheet by the CBI has accused former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi, their daughter Misa Bharti, and 13 others in the land-for-job scam. The CBI court recently has also instructed the accused to appear before the court in the case on March 15.

After the questioning of former Bihar Chief Rabri Devi, Rashtriya Janata Dal Chief Lalu Yadav is reported to be next in line for questioning by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the land-for-job-scam case. According to reports, RJD chief will appear before the CBI in Delhi for questioning.
As per the reports, the probe agency sent a notice to Lalu Yadav a few days ago and according to the officials, RJD chief is likely to be questioned in the case tomorrow.
Most recently, the probe agency visited Rabri Devi’s residence on Monday to question her about the land-for-job case on Monday morning. According to the reports, former Bihar Chief Minister was questioned for 5 hours by the CBI.
It was also reported that the RJD workers assembled outside the house and raised slogans against the probe agency demanding the CBI to go back.
The investigation by the CBI comes in the wake of the recent letter written by the Opposition to the PM Narendra Modi for misuse of central agency for political motive. Among the signatories in the letter written to PM Modi, was also Lalu Yadav’s son and Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Surya.

Land for job scam case
As per the chargesheet, the probe allegedly unveiled that the accused individuals appointed for substitute role had transferred their lands for a cheaper rate than the market rate to Bihar’s Former Chief Minster and his family.
It was also reported that the candidates were also accused of using fake TCs and using fake attested documents to obtain the jobs. The CBI highlighted the alleged discrepancies in the job appointment in Railways and had also claimed that substitutes were also appointed without their being a requirement for the post.
It was also claimed by the probe agency that the date of joining of the substitutes and the date of approval had a large gap in the middle.

BJP MP Giriraj Singh has stirred a controversy on Wednesday after he criticized West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s participation in the Kolkata International Film Festival where she was seen shaking a leg with Bollywood actor Salman Khan. In video circulating on social media Giriraj Singh was seen saying that Mamata Banerjee doing thumka at the film festival is not appropriate.
Lok Sabha MP strongly protested the comment. Giriraj Singh clarified later that he used the word jashn and not thumka and he was not wrong in criticizing Mamata Banerjee for celebrating film festival when West Bengal is riddled with corruption. Singh added the TMC leaders are exaggerating my words.

The party said Singh’s denial is another textbook example of BJP strategy to engage in shameful conduct and then brazenly defend it.
The party added Union Minister Giriraj Singh bjp now joins the list of leaders who made degrading comments about Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The TMC said it is evident the BJP leaders find it incredibily hard to fathom a woman in power challenging their authority. The party said the BJP’s archaic mindset is steeped in gender biases is blatantly on display.
Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra said Giriraj Singh’s words against the only woman chief minister of India is shocking. She told Giriraj Singh that the reason they danced in Bengal is because they don’t have to put up with the likes of him. She said the misogyny and patriarchy that is practiced by the BJP every single day tell a different story altogether.

After winning assembly election, 10 BJP MPs, including 2 ministers, resign from Lok Sabha
In Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh, state elections were won by 12 MPs, according to a BJP leader.

10 members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Parliament, including two union ministers who emerged victorious in the assembly elections, resigned from the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, according to persons familiar with the situation.
Following their meetings with BJP President JP Nadda and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the ten MPs tendered their resignations. They went to the speaker’s office with the party president in tow, where nine MPs tendered their resignation. Kirori Lal Meena, the 10th MP, tendered his resignation to the chairman of the Rajya Sabha.
In Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh, state elections were won by 12 MPs, according to a BJP leader.
The ten MPs who have resigned are: Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Diya Kumari, Kirori Lal Meena (a member of the Rajya Sabha); Arun Sao and Gomti Sai from Chhattisgarh; and Narendra Singh Tomar, Prahlad Patel, Rakesh Singh, Uday Pratap Singh, and Riti Pathak from Madhya Pradesh.
Baba Balaknath, a Lok Sabha MP from Rajasthan, and Renuka Singh, a Chhattisgarh native who was elected as the union minister of state for tribal affairs, have not yet tendered their resignations.
The responsibility for agriculture is held by Narendra Singh Tomar, while the state minister for food processing and Jal Shakti is Prahlad Patel.
The fourth minister the BJP fielded in the state elections, Faggan Singh Kulaste, is the minister of state for steel and rural development, however he was unable to win the assembly seat.
These Members of Parliament are expected to tender their resignations, and there have been rumours of a potential reorganisation within the Union Council of Ministers.
In July 2021, the Union Council underwent its most recent major restructuring with the appointment of 43 ministers, comprising 36 new members. The most recent alteration occurred in May when Kiren Rijiju was replaced as law minister by Arjun Ram Meghwal, a minister of state. The position of minister for earth sciences was given to Rijiju.

DMK MP DNV Senthilkumar S expressed regret over the controversial remark made in Parliament yesterday while targeting the Bharatiya Janta Party and said he was withdrawing his statement. He had apologized for his comments on social media. He took to X (formerly twitter) and wrote commenting on the results of the five state elections, he did not use a word in an appropriate way. Not using that term with any intent, he apologized for sending the wrong meaning across.
He said in the Lok Sabha the statement made by him yesterday inadvertently, if it had hurt the sentiments of the members and sections of the people, he would like to withdraw it. He requested the words to be deleted and he regret it. The ruling BJP termed at as disrespect of the Sanatani tradition and objected to this type of language in the parliament. Opposition leaders including Rajiv Shukla Congress MP’s Karti Chidambaram also condemned the statement.
Congress MP Manickam Tagore said they condemned what the DMK MP had said. He said what the Alliance partner is speaking cannot be attatched to Congress. He said the Congress stands for India and respects all religions. He further added this is a planned conspiracy by the BJP to stop the functioning of the parliament and divert its focus from the real issues. The remarks were deleted from the DMK MP’s speech by Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla.
The third day of the 2023 Winter session started with shouts of Maafi Mango from BJP MPs even before the speaker started the proceedings of the day in Lok Sabha. Union Minister Piyush Goyal sought an apology from DMK MP TR Baalu for Kumar’s comments in the House. He said Baalu should apologise first. He asked how will the House function like this? Goyal asked how can any person say anything in this house and go? He demanded an apology from the DMK MP.
