Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Monday said the people of the state want to ask 3 questions to those who have raked up the Katchatheevu island row just before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections after a 10 year slumber. His statement came in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s double standards remarks against the DMK on the issue.

The DMK supremo responded to Prime Minister Modi’s criticism and said that there are 3 questions that the people of Tamil Nadu are asking those who staged a sudden fisherman’s love drama for the election after being in Kumbakarna slumber for 10 years. The Tami Nadu CM asked if Tamil Nadu pays 1 rupee as tax, why does the Union government return only 29 paise?

The 2nd question directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi was why wasn’t Tamil Nadu not given even a single rupee as flood relief despite facing 2 back to back calamities? The third question that Stalin asked was that in the last 10 years of the BJP government at the Centre, was there any special scheme for Tamil Nadu?

Stalin urged PM Modi to answer the 3 questions without indulging in any diversions. On Sunday, the DMK slammed the PM Modi for attacking the Congress over its decision to callously hand over the strategic island to Sri Lanka in 1974. DMK spokesperson Manuraj S said the BJP was busy playing blame games with the opposition adding that it was afraid to campaign on its achievements.

He had posted on X Startling that the Prime Minister’s eyes have been opened by a news article based on an RTI query filed by his party person and information provided on an issue that is nearly 50 years old. After 10 years in government, the incumbent party is afraid to campaign on its achievements and is still busy with opposition blaming.

PM Modi accuses MVA of corruption, calls them detrimental to Maharashtra’s growth

Launching a scathing attack on the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused them of being the biggest player of corruption and stalling progress in the state.

PM Modi was addressing an election rally in Chimur, a town in the Chandrapur district. The Prime Minister further said that the MVA, a coalition of Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Party (NCP), and the Congress is detrimental to Maharashtra’s growth.

He added that the people of Chandrapur have been demanding rail connectivity for years, but Congress and Aghadi did not let that happen. He continued that the rapid development in the state is beyond the reach of Aghadi.

PM Modi further stated that the Opposition have only done a PhD in putting a brake on development works, and Congress is a double PhD in it. He claimed that Aghadi means the biggest players of corruption.

PM Modi also assured the people that the BJP’s poll manifesto will become a Vikas Ki Guarantee (development guarantee) for Maharashtra in the next five years. He said that the NDA government at the Centre along with ruling Mahayuti, means double speed of development.

In the rally, the Prime Minister also slammed the Congress and the Gandhi family, which he claimed has a history of elitism and exclusion. He added that it has always been the mentality of Congress and Gandhi family that it was born to rule the country.

He also alleged that after Independence, Congress had stymied the progress of marginalised communities. He claimed that the grand old party never allowed Dalits, backward classes, and Adivasis to progress.

Referring to an old Congress advertisement from when Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister, PM Modi argued that it reflected the party’s anti-reservation attitude.

Maharashtra will vote in a single-phase election on November 20 for the 288-seat Assembly. The counting of votes will take place on November 23.
