IND vs AUS: ICC fines Ravindra Jadeja for applying cream on finger during Nagpur Test

Even after India clinched the victory with a stellar performance, Indian Cricket team’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was reprimanded by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for applying a soothing cream. According to reports, the ICC has fined the all-rounder for using a cream during the test in Nagpur.
The incident which transpired on Day 2 of the first Test match between the Blues and the Aussies as it saw Jadeja taking a substance from Mohammed Siraj’s palm and applying it onto his index finger. The action’s by Jadeja was mired in heavy controversy after which the ICC intervened and explicitly made it clear that Ravindra Jadeja had applied cream for medical reasons.
According to reports, Ravindra Jadeja will be fined 25 per cent from his match fees.
The ICC’s statement read that Ravindra Jadeja was found guilty of breaching Article 2.20 of the ICC code of conduct for players and player support personnel, which relates to displaying conduct that goes against the spirit of the game.
The statement also read that a decision was reached to sanction the player along with the Level 1 section he imposed, the match referee assessed the incident and was satisfied that the cream was used for medical purposes only. The statement said that the cream was not applied as an artificial substance to the ball and also added that the applying the cream did not change the condition of the ball.
The statement by the ICC thwarted the theories proposed by former cricketers Michael Vaghan and Tim Paine, who claimed that the cream was used to tamper with the conditions of the match ball.
Ravindra Jadeja’s performance in the 1st test in Nagpur against Australia inspired the Blues win as the star all-rounder’s five wicket haul and a knock of 70 runs in the first innings marked his return. The performance by Jadeja turned out to be a becoming comeback for the Blues all-rounder after coming back from his injury.
Team India beat Australia with an inning and 132 runs in the first test match of Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The Asian Junior U20 Athletics Championships is a championship that is open to individuals who fall under the junior age bracket. Currently, the Asian Athletics Association presides over organising it.

According to media reports, Dhoni was at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute on May 31, Wednesday, where he was admitted for his knee surgery and at 8 am on Thursday, the operation concluded successfully.
During this period, Dhoni met Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, who is a specialist in sports orthopedics as well as the director of sports medicine at the hospital. He is the same doctor treating Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant. Pardiwala also operated on Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra in 2019.
Last year at the end of December, Pant had a terrible accident near Uttarakhand’s Roorkee, while he was driving his car.
