Ind vs Eng, 4th Test, Day 5: England need 291 runs to win, India needs 10 wicket
India need 10 wickets on the final day while England is still 291 runs away from victory. Hameed remained unbeaten on 43 while Burns scored 31 to help England go unscathed by the end of day 4.
England openers Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed got off to a solid start as England got to 77 for no loss at stumps on Day 4 of the 4th Test at Oval in London while chasing a mammoth 368-run target against India.
India need 10 wickets on the final day while England is still 291 runs away from victory.
Hameed remained unbeaten on 43 while Burns scored 31 to help England go unscathed by the end of day 4.
Crucial half-centuries from Shardul Thakur and Rishabh Pant and a brilliant hundred from Rohit Sharma helped India post a massive total of 466 runs in the 2nd innings of the 4th Test. Umesh Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah also played cameos of 25 and 24 as India posted a score of 466 in the second innings, extending the lead to 367.
After a dominating show from Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara on Day 3, skipper Virat Kohli had a huge responsibility on Day 4 to continue India’s fightback in this crucial 4th test match.
However, England strike back with two quick wickets in the morning session of Day 4. Chris Woakes picked up the wickets of Ravindra Jadeja (17) and Ajinkya Rahane (0) to lead England’s fight against India in the fourth Test at Oval.
Indian vice-captain Anjikya Rahane had once again missed the chance of escalating his poor average of 15.57 after he was dismissed for a duck on a batting-friendly surface during India’s second innings against England at Oval.
India may have the upper hand on the final day of the 4th test match but being relaxed can be dangerous for India.
On the final day, England is still 291 runs away from the target and achieving this score on the fifth day will not be easy. For this, England will have to score more than 3 runs per over which is a challenging task on the 5th day.

Watch: India’s jersey for ICC World Cup 2023 unvieled
Adidas India’s kit partners also released an anthem of their own for the Indian Cricket Team. The anthem is 2 minute 21 second long. The anthem is called Impossible Nahi Yeh Sapna, 3 Ka Dream hai Apna.
There is a major change to the jersey that India wore in the the recent Asia Cup 2023. The white stripes have been replaced by India’s tri colour. The jerseys worn by Kohli, Rohit and others in the video has orange, white and green stripes on the shoulder. Social media users hailed the change from Adidas. Netizens said it is a master stroke and the tri colours has taken India’s World Cup jersey to a whole new level.
There will be no Dream 11 logo during the World Cup as according to ICC norms only the team’s name should be visible in the centre of the jersey. India has not won an ICC title since the Champion’s trophy in 2013. India is seen as one of the favourites to win the World Cup.

Delhi Police praises Mohammed Siraj’s excellent performance in Asia Cup Finals on social media
Siraj performance with the ball was top notch as he dismantled the Sri Lankan batting lineup. He took six wickets in the match bringing the Indian team in a dominant position.
Indian pace bowler Mohammed Siraj’s exceptional bowling performance against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup final not only recieved praise from fans all over the world but the Delhi Police social media team as well. They tweeted there would be no speed challans for Siraj today. This implied his fast paced bowling was not only permissible but highly appreciated as well.
Siraj performance with the ball was top notch as he dismantled the Sri Lankan batting lineup. He took six wickets in the match bringing the Indian team in a dominant position. Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah supported Siraj by taking three wickets and one wicket respectively. The Indian bowlers bowled out the Sri Lankan team for 50 runs only. This set the stage for the victory of the Indian team in the Asia Cup.
The highlight of the match was Siraj’s outstanding performance with the ball. He took his first five wickets in just 16 balls. This is the fastest five wicket haul by a bowler in one day international history.
