After the first T20I got abandoned due to rain at Wellington, India and New Zealand are playing the second match of the three-match T20 series at Mount Maunganui’s Bay Oval today. New Zealand have won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Coming to bat first, India’s number three batsman Suryakumar Yadav did a fabulous job. That too, when India was not in a great place when he came to bat. Batting first after losing the toss, India’s start was nothing special. India’s first wicket fell on the score of 36 runs, when Rishabh Pant was dismissed after scoring six runs in 13 balls. After this, Ishaan Kishan took India’s score past 50 by scoring some fast runs, but he too got out after scoring 36 runs in 31 balls.

But at one end, Suryakumar Yadav took charge and scored runs at a brisk pace, but wickets kept falling at the other end. Shreyas Iyer gave away his place with a hit wicket after scoring 13 runs in 9 balls.

At the same time, Captain Hardik scored 13 runs in 13 balls. Deepak Hooda and Washington Sundar could not even open their accounts and gave away an easy hat-trick to Tim Southee. In the end, Suryakumar Yadav remained unbeaten after scoring 111 runs in 51 balls. This includes 11 fours and 7 sixes.

In fact, due to his century, India scored 191 runs losing six wickets and set a target of 192 runs in front of New Zealand. For the unversed, this is SKY’s second T20I century. He had scored his first against T20 hundred against England in July 2022. He had scored his highest of 117 runs in 48 balls.

India vs New Zealand first T20 match was washed out by rain. In such a situation, both the teams would like to win this match and take an unassailable lead in the series.

Australia’s former skipper Ricky Ponting has been rushed to hospital after he complained of uneasiness on Day three of AUS vs WI Test match. The 47-year-old was doing commentary and felt fine in the morning, but around lunch time the former Aussie batter was rushed to a Perth Hospital.

For the unversed, West Indies and host Australia are playing the first Test match of the series at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting joined the series as a commentator. According to several reports, on Friday, he suddenly felt pain in his heart and was taken to the hospital in a hurry.

He is currently admitted in a Perth hospital. However, the local website has reportedly confirmed that is Ricky Ponting is feeling fine and had gone to the hospital as a precaution as he was feeling unwell.

On the first day of the first Test match, Ricky Ponting shared a photo on social media, in which fellow cricketers included in the commentary panel, Matthew Hayden and Justin Langer were standing next to him.

On the game front, on the the third day of the Australia vs West Indies Test match Australia stands in a very strong position. Coming to bat first after winning the toss, Australia scored 598 runs on the loss of 4 wickets.

Marenas Labushnaya (204) and Steve Smith (200) scored double centuries. West Indies’ first innings was very poor, the team was all out for 283 runs. Currently, Australia is playing its second innings.

West Indies legendary all-rounder and Indian Premiere League’s leading wicket taker. Dwayne Bravo has called time on his playing career in the league. But the cricketer will stay associated with the league as CSK’s bowling coach.

Bravo joined Chennai Super Kings in 2011 and since then he has been an integral part of the franchise. But now the team will have to perform without their most dependable bowler. However, Bravo made the announcement and said that he will work in different capacity but will stay with CSK only.

Bravo said that he looking forward to this new journey because it’s something he sees himself doing after his playing days are fully over. Bravo said that he enjoyed working with bowlers and it’s a role that he’s the most excited about. Bravo thinks that from player to coach, he will not have to adjust much because while playing, he has worked with bowlers and has tried to come up with plans and ideas on how to have that one step ahead of the batsmen. The only difference is that he will no longer be standing at mid-on or mid-off, said Dwayne Bravo.

For the unversed, DJ Bravo is the highest-ever wicket-taker in the history of IPL. He had 183 wickets from 161 matches to his name. The West Indies origin all-rounder has also scored 1560 runs at a strike rate of around 130.

Not everyone knows that he played for Mumbai Indians for the fist three editions of Indian Premiere League and since 2011 he was the integral part of Chennai Super Kings’ IPL victories. The Yellow Army lifted the trophy in 2011, 2018, and 2021 and the Champions League T20 victory in 2014. Dwayne Bravo was also the first player to win the Purple Cap for most wickets in an IPL season twice in 2013 and later in 2015.

With only few months left for the ODI World Cup 2023, Team India is tuning into the ODI mode. Men In Blue have reached Bangladesh for the 3-match ODI series and have started the prep in Dhaka. After their T20 World Cup debacle, Rohit Sharma and co are back for their last bilateral series of 2022. The first IND vs BAN encounter from the three-match series will take place on Sunday.

Team India along with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma had reached Dhaka on Thursday. After a very short journey, the Men in Blue have start their preparations from today. Players like Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant and others will reach Dhaka by today evening as their New Zealand tour got over. Meanwhile, for the first time since July, India will have their full ODI squad.

Also, the bowling has no straightforward solution and neither can add to the puzzlement of Rohit. Hence, the training sessions have been scheduled to provide clarity to the team management as well.
