India has done it again! The Indian Cricket Team has won the second Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The team being led by Rohit Sharma has taken a lead of 2-0 in the 4-match Test series. Cheteshwar Pujara, who played his 100 Test in Delhi hit the winning run and close curtains on the 2nd Test after India defeated Australia by 6 wickets.
Ravindra Jadeja who marked his comeback after injury with this Test series has strike 7 wickets in the second innings of 2nd Test, and will win the Man Of The Match award too. Jadeja took Labuschangne’s wicket at 35 off 50 balls. Later Jadeja came on a roll and dismissed Handscomb for 0, Alex Cary for 7, Australia skipper Pat Cummins for 0 again, Nathan Lyon for 8.
For the unversed, the second match of the four-match Test series between India and Australia is being played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. In this match, Australia scored 263 runs in the first innings. In response, India scored 262 runs and Australia got a one-run lead on the basis of first innings. At the end of the second day’s play, Australia’s score is 61/1 and they had a total lead of 62 runs till the game started on Sunday.
But Indian spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin sharred the Australain bbatting order yet again. Where Jaddu took 7 wickets, Ashwin got the rest three, and dismissed the guest for just 113 runs.
Later Indian skipper Rohit Sharma continued where he left off in the Nagpur Test and seemed in a good swing. But he had to walk back to the pavilion in a run out confusion between him and Pujara.
On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer, Virat Kohli and Srikar Bharat all contributed well in the Delhi Test. With a total of just 114 runs to chase, Team India has won the 2nd Test by 6 wickets. Kohli also achieved another milestone as he has become the first batsman to achieved 25000 runs in international cricket.
Kohli achieved the feat with a flick against Nathan Lyon and became only the sixth batter to reach this milestone in International cricket. The former India skipper overtook Sachin Tendulkar by 31 innings (577 inns) to become the fastest ever to the feat
