IND vs BAN: India wins Test series by 2-0, Ashwin-Shreyas Iyer heroics helps India defeat Bangladesh by 3 wickets

India has done the unthinkable. The team that was down by 7 for just the score of 74 has won the second Test match against Bangladesh by 3 wickets. Team India has also defeated the host at Mirpur by 2-0 and won the 2-match Test series.

Shreyas Iyer and Ravichandran Ashwin have helped India win the second match in a tough situation. Maximum batters had returned back to the pavilion even before putting three figures on the scoreboard. Bangladesh through was successfully pinning down India and were having Indian batters under pressure on a short chase of 144 but the partnership between R Ashwin and Shreyas Iyer has brought the difference.

Tiger of the match award was given to Mehndi Hasan for taking five wickets in the second Test. Most valuable man of the match was given to Litton Das for his bravery in the Test series. R Ashwin won the player of the match for taking 4 wickets and 44 not out in the last game. Player of the series award was given to veteran Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara for scoring maximum runs in the IND vs BAN Test series.

Indian Team dealt with pressure

After Virat Kohli’s big wicket, the second biggest blow to Indian team was Rishabh Pant’s wicket. The Indian wicket-keeper batsman came to an end with an LBW by Mehdi Hasan Miraj. Pant returned to the pavilion after scoring nine runs off 13 balls. Mehendi’s ball hit straight on his pad and Shreyas Iyer comes to the crease after Pant while Axar Patel was still on the other end. Team India had then scored 74 runs for six wickets in 29 overs. Indian then needed just 71 more runs to win.

Mehdi Hasan Miraj was on a roll as he gave seventh blow to India. He clean bowled Axar Patel, and the Indian all-rounder returned to the pavilion after scoring 34 off 69 balls. Team India is in trouble after his dismissal. As they still need to score 71 more runs to win the test. Men in blue managed to score just 74 runs in the second innings for the loss of 7 wickets in 30 overs.

But India has won the series by 2-0 and have defeated the host at their home ground of Sher-E-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka.

IND vs BAN 2nd Test Summary

The second match of the two-Test series between India and Bangladesh was being played in Dhaka. Today was the fourth day of the match and India seemed to have entered a tough situation after they lost seven wickets for just 85 runs. Bangladesh had scored 227 runs in the first innings, in response India scored 314 runs.

In second innings, Bangladesh team managed to score 231 runs and set a target of 145 runs for India to chase. In response, India had scored 45 runs for four wickets by the end of the third day. And on the occasion of Christmas India has won the Test series and Day 4 and will be returning back to India on a happy note. With this India has also avenged the ODI defeat.

There is a major change to the jersey that India wore in the the recent Asia Cup 2023. The white stripes have been replaced by India’s tri colour. The jerseys worn by Kohli, Rohit and others in the video has orange, white and green stripes on the shoulder. Social media users hailed the change from Adidas. Netizens said it is a master stroke and the tri colours has taken India’s World Cup jersey to a whole new level.

There will be no Dream 11 logo during the World Cup as according to ICC norms only the team’s name should be visible in the centre of the jersey. India has not won an ICC title since the Champion’s trophy in 2013. India is seen as one of the favourites to win the World Cup.

ICC launched the anthem of the ICC World cup 2023 on Wednesday. The anthem has Dil Jashn Bole has got mixed reviews on social media. The main reason due to the favourable home conditions, recent form and a strong team. India has warmed up nicely by becoming the Asia Cup Champions eighth time in a row. India will start their World Cup journey against Australia on October 8 in Chennai. The first match of the World Cup will start with England Vs New Zealand in Ahmedabad.

Indian pace bowler Mohammed Siraj’s exceptional bowling performance against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup final not only recieved praise from fans all over the world but the Delhi Police social media team as well. They tweeted there would be no speed challans for Siraj today. This implied his fast paced bowling was not only permissible but highly appreciated as well.

Siraj performance with the ball was top notch as he dismantled the Sri Lankan batting lineup. He took six wickets in the match bringing the Indian team in a dominant position. Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah supported Siraj by taking three wickets and one wicket respectively. The Indian bowlers bowled out the Sri Lankan team for 50 runs only. The highlight of the match was Siraj’s outstanding performance with the ball. He took his first five wickets in just 16 balls. This is the fastest five wicket haul by a bowler in one day international history. Anand Mahindra wrote on X he had just one word for Mohammed Siraj Class which comes from within. India wins eighth Asia Cup title with 10 wicket win against Sri Lanka

India became Asia Cup Champions defeating Sri Lanka in the final of Asia Cup 2023. Mohammed Siraj destroyed the Sri lankan batting lineup in just first six overs of the match. He picked up a five wicket haul in the period. Jasprit Bumrah started his spell by picking up a wicket on his third ball.

Siraj destroyed the Sri Lankan batting lineup by taking four wickets in the fourth over itself. He came back and took the wicket of Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka. He completed his five wicket haul in just his second over only. The Sri Lankan batting was left reeling at 12/6 in 5.4 overs at that point. Siraj achieved record figures of 6/21.

Hardik Pandya took three important wickets finishing off the tailenders of the Sri Lankan batting line up. He took two back to back wickets in the first two balls of the sixteenth over. Sri Lanka was bowled out, their lowest ever score in One Day Internationals .The Indian batting started with Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill. The openers chased down the target in 6.1 overs itself. India thus won the final with 10 wickets and 263 balls remaining.

Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat first. The match got delayed by 40 minutes due to rain. Sri Lanka missed their entire bowling attack. A mix of experienced part timers and young bowlers made scoring against Sri Lanka a difficult task. Kushal Mendes was the only player who performed with the bat.

KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah have made strong returns with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill also performing with the bat during the tournament. Sri Lanka lost their chances of beating India just few minutes after the match started. Both the Sri Lankan Team and the Indian team have been facing injuries as they reached the final.
