India create history by beating 14-time champions Indonesia and winning the Thomas Cup for first time in 73 years. Here’s how tweeple are celebrating this win.

Indian men’s badminton team have created history today by defeating 14 times champion Indonesia and winning the first ever Thomas Cup in 73 years. Currently not only the players but the entire country is basking in glory.
Be it Prime Minister Narendra Modi or former and current sportspersons or even film stars, no one is left behind in praising the players and being a part of this glorious win.
PM Narendra Modi took to his Twitter handle to congratulate the Indian men’s badminton team. He even said that this win will motivate young sportspersons to take up the plunge.
Former Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli also took to his twitter handle to congratulate the Indian Badminton team. He called it a massive achievement and thanked the team for winning it for India.
Seems like the Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra was with the Indian Badminton team for the adrenaline rushes. The former sportsperson also took to his official Twitter handle to praise the Indian Team. He even thanked the coaches and team staff members for their efforts.
Team India defeated Indonesia with World Championships medallist Kidambi Srikanth, Lakshya Sen, and world number 8 doubles duo Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty. Yes! Giving a tough fight to Srikanth, Christie was once leading with 16-13 but, the Indian made his way back to the game and clinch the match with 21-15,23-21 and created history by winning India’s first ever Thomas Cup.
Several Cricketers like Dinesh Karthik, Waseem Jaffer, Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar and several others have congratulated the Indian Badminton Team for winning the first-ever Thomas Cup.
Bollywood actor Tapsee Pannu was the first actor to send her best wishes to the athletes. This is the first time ever that Team India entered the semi-finals of the Thomas Cup after 43 years. And later the Indian Men’s Badminton Team won the Thomas Cup finals after 73 years. This indeed is a history landmark for the nation.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma launch a non-profit initiative SeVVA for social good, humanity
In a joint statement, the Indian cricketer and Bollywood actor said that it is a non-profit initiative and is meant to help people in need.

Celebrity couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma announced on March 22 that they are merging their respective foundations- The Virat Kohli Foundation and The Anushka Sharma Foundation, and launching a new initiative called SeVVA.
In a joint statement, the Indian cricketer and Bollywood actor said that it is a non-profit initiative and is meant to help people in need. SeVVA will not be confined to any particular cause. The couple said the organisation will continue to strive for social good by championing humanity which is the need of the hour today.
They said, in the words of Kahlil Gibran, ‘For in truth, it is a life that gives unto life- while you, who deem yourself a giver, are but a witness’ and with this sentiment in mind, they have decided to work together aiming to reach out to as many people as possible, through SeVVA.

The cricketer will continue to provide scholarships in the field of sports and also sponsor aspiring athletes. Anushka will also continue to work for animal welfare as she has been doing for many years. SeVVA will be working to locate and assist in areas of concern that benefit society as a whole.
The couple got married in December 2017 in Tuscany and is known as one of the strongest and most loved couples in the industry. They are one of the most influential couples as well, featuring together in many ads. The duo is known for their heart-warming love for each other and for living a very fulfilling yet simple life.
Kohli and Sharma welcomed their daughter Vamika in 2021 and the actor has been on a break from acting since then. She will be seen in the sports drama based on Indian pace bowler Jhulan Goswami, titled Chakda Xpress.

The Blues skipper, Rohit Sharma, made a return to the national squad in the second ODI against Australia in Visakhapatnam on Sunday after missing the first ODI in the tri-series owing to family-related commitments. In the skipper’s absence, Hardik Pandya was entrusted to lead the team against the Aussies.
India’s opener joined back with his team after arriving in India’s Vizag. However, the skipper met with his fans at the airport and had an hilarious exchange with one of the fans who was waiting for him.
In the video, Rohit along with his teammates can be seen coming out of the airport where a fan can be seen recording a selfie video. Rohit, who can be seen bolting through the crowd of fans, can be seen offering a flower to the fan recording the video.

After the video went viral on social media, many users came forward to add their praise on the incident. One user wrote and said that this is why Rohit Sharma is the greatest of all time, implying Sharma’s modesty and humbleness are the key attributes.
One user wrote and said that the Indian skipper just wanted to throw the rose away, however, as he couldn’t find any dustbin, he offered the rose to one of the fans.
One user wrote and predicted that the fan must have said yes after hearing the proposal of Rohit Sharma, which is why he didn’t upload the full video.

Iyer complaint of back injury ahead of the Ahmedabad Test day 3.

The Indian team has suffered a setback before the series of three ODIs to be played between India and Australia. If the report is to be believed, Shreyas Iyer will not be a part of the ODI series against Australia. The BCCI issued a statement on Monday saying that the medical team is monitoring Shreyas’s injury.
If Shreyas is ruled out of the ODI series against Australia, then Rajat Patidar or Rahul Tripathi will be included in the team, or BCCI could opt for Sanju Samson.
If media reports are to be believed, on the other hand, the way Axar Patel got a chance in place of Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel also capitalized on that opportunity. Similarly, in place of Shreyas Iyer batsman Sanju Samson might come to the fore.
For the unversed, Iyer complaint of back injury ahead of the Ahmedabad Test day 3. The batsman could not even run properly hence, Team India was one batsman short during the first innings.

On the other hand, Sanju Samson ODI Carrier includes 330 runs in 10 innings of 11 matches, including two half-centuries. Moreover, in the absence of Rohit Sharma in the first match of the ODI series, Hardik Pandya will take over the responsibility of captaincy only in the first ODI against Australia.
India won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test Series by 2-1 and lifted the trophy. Men In Blue have also qualified for the World Test Championship’s final. Now in the absence of Rohit Sharma, in the first ODI, Hardik Pandya would like to start the ODI series with a win for the Indian team under his captaincy.
