A day after India’s 1-2 loss in three-match Test series to South Africa, Virat Kohli on Saturday stepped down as the team India Test captain. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are being considered as the top contender for the post.

Sharing a copy of his statement on Twitter, Kohli wrote that it’s been 7 years of hard work, toil and relentless perseverance everyday to take the team in the right direction. He has done the job with absolute honesty and left nothing out there. Everything has to come to a halt at some stage and for him as Test Captain of India, it’s now, Kohli said in his Twitter post.

Kohli also said he has always given his 120% in everything he has done on the cricket field. There have been many ups and downs throughout his career but never has there been a lack of effort or lack of belief. He has absolute clarity in his heart and cannot be dishonest to his team, Kohli said in his post shared on Twitter.

Kohli, who had already stepped down as T20I captain after T20 World Cup, thanked the BCCI and his teammates for supporting him throughout his journey as Indian captain. Last year in December, he was replaced as India’s full-time white-ball captain by Rohit Sharma.

He was appointed as the test captain of India in 2014 after MS Dhoni had stepped down from the captaincy in the middle of test series against Australia.

Kohli’s was among those successful captains who have achieved various milestones for team India.

Under the leadership of Virat Kohli, team India had successfully grabbed the top spot at the ICC test rankings and led the team India into the final of the inaugural World Test Championship in Southampton.

Overall, Kohli steps down with the fourth-most wins as captain in Test cricket, with 40 wins from 68 games.

The police have arrested two men for harassing a Korean YouTuber as she was live-streaming on the streets of Mumbai on Wednesday night.

The video of the incident reported from the Khar area has gone viral on social media and the youth can be seen harassing her. The social media users have condemned the incident

The viral video shows the woman walking on the street while live-streaming and the accused enters the frame. He then asks her to come with him but the woman denies coming with him. He then grabs her hand and forces her to come with him. But the woman is heard saying, “No, no, no.”

He then says bye to her while doing obscene gestures, leaving the woman shocked.

The woman then leaves, and onlu a couple of seconds after, the accused along with one of his friends comes by on a two-wheeler. He asks her to sit with them offering lift but the woman again denies in broken English. She tells them her house was nearby and they can leave.

The victim has retweeted the video and said that she did not make a scene as she was alone and the accused was with his friend.

In a tweet, she wrote, last night while live-streaming, a guy harassed her. She tried her best not to escalate the situation and left because the accused was with his friend. The YouTuber further wrote that she was told by some people that their misbehaviour was a response to her over-friendly attitude and engaging with them in the conversation. Makes me think about streaming, she worries.

The reports say that the Mumbai police have registered a case of sexual assault after the video went viral.

Many social media users lashed out at the foul behaviour of these youth towards someone who was a guest to the country.

The Punjab Police on Wednesday lathi-charged farmers protesting outside Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s residence in Sangrur.

Reports said farmers organised the protest and demanded an increase in minimum daily wages to Rs 700 under the Mahatama Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act 2005. The farmers also demanded the implementation of five-marla plot schemes for Dalits and allotment of the third part of common panchayat land on lease to Dalits.

The video of the Sangrur Police lathi charging farmers is doing rounds on the internet. Following the protest, Sangrur superintendent of police Manpreet Singh was spotted hitting the farmers in the video. He was also seen ordering other cops to lathi charge in the video.

Reports further said eight other labour unions have joined the Sanjha Mazdoor Morcha in organising the protest that started near the Patiala-Bathinda road.

Zameen Prapti Sangharsh Committee president Mukesh Malaud said the protest was followed after CM Bhagwant Mann refused to meet them after scheduling the meeting.

Reports said the farmers also demanded compensation for the death of their cattle due to lumpy skin disease, the release of reimbursement for their damaged crops, and the cancellation of FIRs for burning crop residue.

Panic gripped the area after the dead body of the manager of an IPS officer’s farm house was found hanging from a tree in the farm house compound in Lucknow.

The deceased has been identified as Vijay Maurya and he was working in the farm house of DG Home Guard BK Maurya for 10 years. The family has accused of murder. In this farm house built in 50 bighas, even 10 years ago, a caretaker was killed by slitting his throat. The incident is of Mal police station area of ​​Uttar Pradesh’s capital city.

A crowd gathered on the spot after the dead body of a youth was found in Malihabad, Lucknow.

The body of 28-year-old Vijay was found hanging from a tree in the farm house with the a plastic rope. When the villagers saw the dead body, they informed the family and the police. Police along with the forensic team reached the spot. The dead body was brought down and sent for postmortem. A note was found in the pocket of the deceased, although what was written in it, the police are yet to disclose.

Man was working in farm house for 10 years

The deceased, Vijay, was married and was a resident of Gulawali village, about two kilometers away from the farm house. He is survived by his wife and two daughters. The police said that on Tuesday itself, Vijay had gone to Saspan village with five of his friends. He was last spotted here by the villagers.

Police said – a case of love affair

SHO of Mal police station Praveen Kumar has said that the case of Vijay’s death is related to a love affair. He added that the manager of the farm house had an affair with a woman. Postmortem has confirmed death by strangulation i.e. suicide. There are no external injury marks on the body. The family has not yet given a complaint in the matter. The Police are investigating.

Family alleges murder

However, the kin of the deceased say that the dead body was hanged from the tree after killing. His mother Ramkali and wife Preeti Maurya are activists of the India Plan. Vijay has 2 daughters. Elder daughter Tanishka is 6 years old and younger daughter is 8 months old.

IPS officer had bought the farm house 20 years ago

DG Home Guard BK Maurya owns this farm and had bought 50 bighas of land about 20 years ago. Vijay was looking after the farm for 10 years. The villagers told the police that even a year ago, an attempt was made to kill Vijay by poisoning him. However, no information has been received about this from the police or family members.

No clue of the murder that happened 10 years ago

IPS BK Maurya also reached the farm house on the information of the incident. DG told the police that 10 years ago, Ashok Kumar Maurya, who was taking care of his farm house, was murdered by slitting his throat, but till now the clue of the murder has not been found. Now Vijay has died mysteriously. It was necessary to unearth the murder, he added.
