WhatsApp introduces chat lock feature for private conversations, here’s how to use
As per Meta, the ability to lock a chat will be greatly beneficial for users who share their phones with family members from time to time.

WhatsApp has recently introduced a new feature called Chat Lock for users to make their intimate conversations even more private. The Meta-owned group enables its users to lock individual chats to enhance the security of their messages and protect their privacy.
If you don’t want someone to peep into the chat of a particular person then you can enable the Chat Lock feature as it allows an individual to lock that person’s chat with a password or biometric authentication.
The Chat Lock feature lets you protect your most intimate conversations with a password and secures them in a separate folder. When someone messages you and you have that chat locked, the sender’s name and the content of the message will also be hidden.
Along with this, when a WhatsApp chat is locked, that conversation thread is taken out of a user’s inbox, and put behind a folder of its own. It also automatically hides the contents of that chat in notifications.
As per Meta, the ability to lock a chat will be greatly beneficial for users who share their phones with family members from time to time.

- You will see a Chat Lock option just below the message menu.
- Set up Chat Lock, then use your phone’s password or biometrics to log in.
How to access locked chats on WhatsApp?
- Open WhatsApp and navigate to your home page to view encrypted chat.
- Swipe down to access all locked chats.
- Select the locked chat by tapping on it.
- Unlock the chat by entering your phone’s password or biometric data.

Government to deploy cutting-edge system to track and block stolen, lost mobile phones
Stolen mobile phones will soon be a thing of the past as the government is gearing up for the pan-India deployment of a cutting-edge tracking system that will not only be able to track but also block mobile that have been reported stolen or lost.

Stolen mobile phones will soon be a thing of the past as the government is gearing up for the pan-India deployment of a cutting-edge tracking system that will not only be able to track but also block mobile that have been reported stolen or lost.
A PTI report quoting a senior official of Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on the condition of anonymity, said that the technology development body Centre for Department of Telematics (CDoT) has been running the pilot of the CEIR system in some telecom circles, including Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and the North East region, and the system is now ready for pan-India deployment.
The DoT official said that CIER system is scheduled for pan-India launch on May 17, however, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman Project Board at CDoT Rajkumar Upadhyay did not confirm the date but acknowledged that the tech is ready for a pan-India launch.
He said the technology will enable people to not only track but also block their stolen or lost mobile phones, adding that new features have been added to the system to check the use of cloned mobile phones across all telecom networks.

Asked how the system will work, the official said that the CIER system will be able to access the unique digital identifier—IMEI number—of the device and the mobile number linked to it.
He said the system is already in use in some states where its being employed to track stolen and/or lost mobile phone.
The official said that common practice of miscreants changing the IMEI number of a stolen device which prevented tracking and blocking of such devices, will now become redundant as the CEIR will be able to identify, track and then block all cloned mobile phones on any network with the help of various databases.
Rajkumar Upadhyay said the widespread use of CEIR system will discourage the theft of mobile phones as it would be practically useless to try using a stolen device.
The Karnataka Police recently recovered over more than 2,500 lost mobile phones and handed them over to their owners using the CEIR system.

iPhone 15 leaks: Expected specs, launch timeline, price and other details
Apple is set to release the iPhone 15 this September with a change in its appearance from existing iPhone models.

The iPhone 15 series launch is still some distance away but leaks, bless them, have largely given us an idea of what to anticipate from Apple’s upcoming iPhones.
With the iPhone 15, Apple is expected to update the design and provide top-tier specifications.
Here is what we know about the iPhone 15s’ appearance, features, and cost based on leaks:
Apple is set to release the iPhone 15 this September with a change in its appearance from existing iPhone models. Among the big-ticket news is that Apple is likely to add the Dynamic Island feature to its less expensive older versions along with the release of the iPhone 15.
Previously, only the iPhone 14 Pro models could use this. As a result, you can imagine a punch-hole display design on the front, common to many Android phones these days.
Since Apple received harsh criticism last year for offering the same design on standard versions for years, many consumers are sure to appreciate the company’s decision to introduce a new design on standard models as well.

There have been no reports, however, of changes to the back, as a result of which the design of the back camera may not change. Last, but not least, reports also imply that the iPhone 15 and its Plus model would have a frosted glass back with a matte finish, similar to iPhone 14 Pro from the previous year.
The Bionic A 16 chipset, which powered Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro last year, will probably be the star of the iPhone 15 as well. According to Apple’s new policy, ordinary models will now come with a one year flagship chipset while Pro models would only get the latest processor. The same is probably going to occur with the 2023 models.
The iPhone 15 is claimed to have a significant improvement in optics when compared to earlier versions. The 48-megapixel primary camera on the back of the 5G phone might be equivalent to the Pro variants of the iPhone 14 series. It would be a significant improvement over the 12-megapixel sensors found on the current iPhone models.
