Watch: Netizens react to new Air India’s logo, revamped aircraft livery, design features

Air India, the iconic Tata-group owned airline on Thursday revealed a dynamic new brand logo and a captivating aircraft livery. According to reports, this visionary leap comes at a time when the airline’s ambitious plan is to revolutionize its fleet, boasting an unprecedented acquisition of 470 state of art aircraft in a monumental multi-billion-dollar pact. 

The Tata Group’s airline has ditched its red arched window accents for a sleeker livery which will see its tail fin painted in hues of gold, red, purple, along with a red and gold underbelly emblazoned with its name in bold. This new logo has received a mixed reaction from the netizens. 

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor wrote that he thinks people will get used to Air India’s new look. He added that what really matters to passengers is fixing the interiors of the planes. He narrated that the service of the national carrier is good but the seats are creaking. He noted that the passengers’ experience comes from what’s inside the aircraft and not what’s outside. 

Another social media user expressed that he just loved the simple, clean and bold livery which he thinks stands out. He mentioned that his favourite livery has always been KLM but Air India was not far behind, especially in the tail art. He further expressed that Air India will always be one of his airlines of choice. Expressing similar liking for sleek, another user explained that the new livery tends to put one off at first as it’s seen most like a medley or plane having played Holi. The user continued that what stuck him was that the tail livery extends beyond the tailfin and that creates a visual disturbance to the eyes.  

Meanwhile, some netizens are visibly disappointed with Air India’s new logo. A twitter user remarked that he had high hopes on the new Air India livery since it is the same agency with rebranded FIJI air and had done an excellent job. However, the new Air India livery is too simple and ugly, he added. Another Twitter user asked Air India to name Ranveer Singh as their brand Ambassador.

According to reports, Air India’s new brand identity has been designed in partnership with the brand transformation company FutureBrand. Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran noted that the new logo is signified by the historically used window. The peak of the golden window signifies limitless possibilities, progressive and confidence.

Amazon Prime Video on Thursday announced that the 3rd season of Panchayat which will start streaming from May 28 onwards. Amazon Prime Video took to its Instagram handle and wrote you moved the laukis, we announced the rewards.

Manish Menghani, director of content licensing at Prime Video India said Panchayat has been widely appreciated by the audiences due to its simple storytelling that is rooted in the slow-paced village life and for its satirical treatment of daily issues faced by villagers of Phulera.

Earlier Amazon Prime Video shared stills from the Panchayat 3 sets and the first picture showed Jitendra Kumar on a bicycle, the other photographs featured Ashok Pathak, Durgesh Kumar and Faisal Malik as Vinod, Bhushan and Prahlad, respectively.

Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan has a special message for the Indian cricket team who are getting ready to play the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The legendary actor shared a video in which he assumed the role of Ashwatthama, his character from the upcoming film, Kalki 2898 AD, and motivated the players of the Indian cricket team for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.

The video was shared by the official social media accounts of the Nag Ashwin film, Kalki 2898 AD and began with Amitabh Bachchan announcing, Ye mahayudh hai, ab hoja tu taiyaar (This is a war, get ready for it). Through his poetry, the megastar tried to pump up the players as he said, Ab ban ja veer, buland kar le apni taqdeer, dikha dum, laga dum (Now, become brave, elevate your destiny, show your strength, put in effort). The video has gone viral on social media with 87,505 likes till now which are only increasing.

As the Bollywood star narrated the poem with the background music of Kalki 2898 AD playing, visuals of the Indian cricket team played on the screen. Players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya, were seen along with former players like Harbhajan Singh and Mahendra Singh Dhoni celebrating their victory on the cricket ground in the viral video.

In the end of the video the actor concluded with Maan mat tu jeet se kam, garv se uthe har matha, ye mahadwand hai, mahayudh, virodhi se tu nazrein mila, ab hoja tu taiyaar (Do not belittle yourself in front of victory, let every head rise with pride, this is a great struggle, a great battle, meet the opponent eye to eye, now get ready).

After electing to bowl on a red-soil pitch, Sam Curran’s men put Chennai Super Kings on a stranghlehold, capitalising the middle-overs where they only conceded 56 runs.

Spinners Harpreet Brar and Rahul Chahar picked up 4 important wickets as they conceded 33 runs in 8 overs. In reply, quick knocks from Rilee Rossouw and Jonny Bairstow lightened the load on the middle-order as Punjab Kings afflicted a 5th consecutive loss for Chennai Super Kings in their head-to-head encounters.
