The Twitter user demanded Yogi Adityanath has been sent to France to bring the situation under control within 24 hours. The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s office reacted to a viral tweet stating whenever there have been riots fueled by extremism, chaos engulfs and a law & order situation aroused in any part of the globe, the world has demanded solace and yearns for the transformative Yogi Model of Law & Order established by CM Yogi in Uttar Pradesh.

The Twitter account named Professor N John Camm has made the demand, identifying himself as a senior international cardiologist. However, several internet users have doubted this person and claimed that the handle actually belonged to DR Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav who has been arrested in the past for a fraud case.

In a post, many users commented that Yogi should have brought the riots situation under control in France within 24 hours, but this particular tweet by a verified handle named Professor N John Camm went viral as the handle was presumed to be of an international personality.

The Yogi Adityanath’s office Tweet garnered the attention of AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi. Owaisi commented on the response of Yogi Adityanath’s office and said they have been so hungry for praise from foreigners that they did not even realise that the account was fake.

He hit out at Uttar Pradesh Government and said the false encounters and illegal bulldozer actions targeting the weaker section were not a transformative policy, instead, it was a destruction of democracy. The country had seen the truth of the Yogi Model in Lakhimpur Kheri and Hathras in the past.

As per the reports, France has been witnessing widespread riots after the shooting of a 17-year-old named Nahel by the police on June 27.

Surprisingly, even after the Twitter user turned out to be a fake, the UP BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi also made a statement on Saturday saying amid the ongoing riots in France, there has been a growing demand for the Yogi model, which has received praise. This proved as international recognition of the effective law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh.

Centre issues notice to Ola, Uber over price disparities on iPhone, Android

The CCPA’s investigation is focused on determining whether Ola and Uber are engaging in unfair pricing strategies that disadvantage users based solely on the type of mobile device they use. This raises significant concerns about potential violations of consumer protection laws and fair competition principles.

The Department of Consumer Affairs is investigating allegations of discriminatory pricing practices by ride-hailing companies Ola and Uber. The investigation, spearheaded by the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA), follows reports and social media posts suggesting that iPhone users are consistently charged higher fares than Android users for identical rides at the same time and location.

Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi, publicly announced the investigation via a post on X (formerly Twitter), confirming that notices have been issued to both companies demanding their responses.

The controversy erupted after several social media users, including one who goes by the name Sudhir, shared their experiences of observing fare discrepancies between iPhones and Android devices.

Sudhir’s post, which gained significant traction, included screenshots allegedly showing a substantial price difference – reportedly ₹50 – for the same Uber Auto ride booked simultaneously on two different phones. This seemingly corroborated numerous anecdotal accounts claiming similar experiences. The visual evidence, showing a lower fare on an Android device compared to a higher fare on an iPhone for the same journey, fueled public outrage and prompted the CCPA’s intervention.

The CCPA’s investigation is focused on determining whether Ola and Uber are engaging in unfair pricing strategies that disadvantage users based solely on the type of mobile device they use. This raises significant concerns about potential violations of consumer protection laws and fair competition principles.

The investigation will likely examine the pricing algorithms used by both companies, seeking to understand if device type is a factor in determining fares. The potential for targeted price discrimination based on perceived consumer purchasing power represents a serious issue, particularly given the popularity and reliance on these ride-hailing services.

Both Ola and Uber are yet to publicly respond to the notices issued by the CCPA. The outcome of the investigation remains to be seen, but it highlights the growing need for greater transparency and accountability in the algorithms that increasingly govern our daily lives and transactions.

The potential ramifications extend beyond the immediate impact on consumers, posing questions about the broader ethical implications of algorithmic pricing and its potential for exploitation.

Mohammed Shami practices bowling at the nets, with knee heavily strapped.

Mohammed Shami’s anticipated return to international cricket has been further postponed as he was notably absent from India’s lineup for the first T20I against England. This decision has intensified discussions around the fast bowler’s fitness levels.

Despite showing signs of recovery and actively participating in pre-match training sessions, the 34-year-old pacer’s exclusion by skipper Suryakumar Yadav, who chose the playing XI after winning the toss, has raised eyebrows. Shami, observed bowling intensely at the nets while targeting a two-stump line, also had his left knee heavily strapped, a detail that did not go unnoticed during his practice.

The veteran pacer, who has been sidelined for over a year, recently shared his journey of recovery and his determination to return to the field. At a recent Cricket Association of Bengal event, Shami expressed his relentless desire to play for the country and mentioned his active participation in domestic cricket across all formats to regain his form.

Despite this, concerns about his knee swelling post-training sessions linger. Suryakumar Yadav had previously shown confidence in Shami’s recovery, hinting at his inclusion and emphasizing the bowler’s experience as a valuable asset to the team.

However, on the eve of the match, despite Shami’s rigorous training and a subsequent session where he bowled with full intensity, he appeared cautious while walking back to the dressing room, hinting at persistent unease.

This ongoing saga not only affects Shami’s immediate future in the Indian squad but also puts a spotlight on the team’s preparations for the upcoming Champions Trophy, particularly with uncertainty surrounding another key pacer, Jasprit Bumrah.

As the selectors, including Chairman Ajit Agarkar, deliberate on the team’s composition, the emphasis on Shami’s readiness highlights the challenges of managing athlete fitness at the highest levels of cricket. Agarkar has remarked on the strategic importance of reintroducing Shami through shorter formats as a buildup to more intense international engagements.

As the series progresses, all eyes will remain on Shami’s recovery trajectory and his potential impact on the team’s dynamic, especially in the white-ball setup.
