The video which has gone viral on social media platforms and sparked outrage from users who have lambasted the officer for his elitist attitude.

Meanwhile, Jatavath, in his response has trashed the allegations and claimed that the video has been edited.

A report quoted the Collector as saying that he had taken off his shoes as he entered the temple but did not ask his assistant to remove or carry his shoes.

Jatavath claimed that the video was edited to make it look like he had asked the assistant—who according to the Collector, joined duty on Tuesday— to collect his shoes.

The officer claimed that the assistant who is new to the job, may not have known what to do and he did not ask him to carry his shoes, adding that officials from various line departments including police personnel and the panchayat staff accompanied him during the visit and can vouch for his side of the story.

Ola Electric’s share price fell nearly 6% on Monday after Rosmerta Digital Services Ltd announced plans to file an insolvency petition against its wholly-owned subsidiary, Ola Electric Technologies Pvt Ltd. The petition, citing unpaid dues, was filed under Section 9 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (IBC) and submitted to the Bengaluru Bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).

Ola Electric’s response

Ola Electric Mobility has contested the claims, stating that it has sought legal counsel and will take all necessary actions to challenge the petition. The company mentioned that it had been renegotiating its agreements with Rosmerta Digital Services Pvt Ltd and Shimnit India Pvt Ltd to reduce costs and enhance efficiency in vehicle registration services.

Stock performance and market impact

Opening Price (BSE): Rs 50 per share

Intraday High: Rs 50.16

Intraday Low: Rs 48.61

Market analysts remain bearish on Ola Electric’s stock. Anshul Jain, Head of Research at Lakshmishree Investment and Securities, noted that the stock has been on a steady decline post-IPO, breaking below its base price of ₹76.

“After peaking at ₹157 post-IPO, the stock has been in a firm downtrend. The break below ₹76 suggests that the next key support level is ₹34. Unless a strong reversal occurs, further selling pressure is likely,” Jain stated.

Ola Electric’s Q3 2024 financial results

Ola Electric Mobility reported a widening consolidated net loss of ₹564 crore for Q3 2024, compared to ₹376 crore in the same quarter last year.

Revenue from operations: ₹1,045 crore (down from ₹1,296 crore year-on-year)

Increased expenses: Due to rising competition and one-time costs for service-related improvements

Despite financial struggles, the company noted that it achieved its highest-ever e-scooter registrations of 3.33 lakh units in Q3, marking a 37.5% increase from last year.

Sunita Williams set to return home after nine-month ISS stay

NASA has confirmed the return of astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore after a prolonged nine-month stay on the ISS, with splashdown scheduled off Florida’s coast.

Sunita Williams

Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, the two U.S. astronauts stranded on the International Space Station (ISS) for over nine months, are finally set to return to Earth. NASA has scheduled their splashdown for Tuesday evening (EDT), off the Florida coast aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule.

NASA advances return schedule

Initially planned for Wednesday, NASA moved up the return to 5:57 pm EDT on Tuesday (3:27 am IST, Wednesday). The decision was made to allow for a smooth crew transition while ensuring a safe return before unfavorable weather conditions develop later in the week.

NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov will also be aboard the Crew Dragon as it makes its descent. The hatch closure preparations will begin on Monday evening, and the entire journey back will be streamed live.

The nine-month ordeal

Williams and Wilmore have been on the ISS since June, far beyond their expected mission duration. Their extended stay was due to propulsion issues with the Boeing Starliner spacecraft, which was deemed unfit for the return journey.

Originally designed as a short round-trip, their mission ended up lasting three months longer than a standard six-month ISS rotation. While this is much shorter than the record 371-day stay by NASA astronaut Frank Rubio or the world record 437-day stay by Russian cosmonaut Valeri Polyakov, the sudden extension forced them to receive additional clothing and supplies.
