After much waiting, Kiara Advani finally revealed all the facts of her actor husband Sidharth Malhotra’s romantic proposal on Koffee With Karan (KWK) season 8 episode 7. She and Vicky Kaushal, her co-star in Govinda Naam Mera, talked about their individual love lives while sharing the KWK couch.

Speaking of Sidharth’s proposal, Kiara disclosed that he asked her to marry him using a passage from their 2021 movie Shershaah.

Kiara Advani revealed to have sensed that Sidharth was going to propose the question while she was visiting Rome with his family. She claimed that before he proposed to her, she had asked for her parents’ approval.

The Good News actor explained how it went, saying, well, it was the first place they went to on that trip. His nephew, who was meant to take pictures and record the moment, accompanied them when he took her to Michelin-starred restaurant.

Kiara said she was tired because she just landed and came along for the ride with them. She was really very tired. Additionally, he planned the works. He’s done this dinner under the candles on top. After supper, they returned. Sid took her on a stroll when all of a sudden a violinist appears from the bushes and begins to perform. His nephew then stealthily recorded their video from the bushes, and Sid got down on one knee and pops the question. She felt so overwhelemed. Then he begins reciting Shershaah’s lines. Dilli ka sidha sadha launda hu (I am a simple boy from Delhi) he recited, laughing at the entire Shershaah dialouges.

His clarification came after his name had been circulating in discussions about possible contestants for Bigg Boss 20.

Batwara 1947 has had a disappointing run at the box office, and actor Shabana Azmi has now shared her thoughts on why the film may not have connected with audiences. According to Azmi, one possible reason could be the difficulty some viewers had in accepting Sunny Deol as a Muslim character.

The film, which also features Preity Zinta and Shabana Azmi, was released on August 14. It has reportedly earned around Rs 53 crore so far, while Awarapan 2, which released on the same day, has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark.

Azmi also suggested that there may have been confusion among some viewers about Sunny Deol’s character in Batwara 1947. She said that even some people who had watched the film believed Deol was playing a Pakistani character, whereas, according to her, he plays an Indian Muslim.
