West Bengal man barks like a dog after his surname Dutta printed as Kutta on ration card

A bizarre video is circulating on social media in which a man is seen barking like a dog before an executive magistrate as his surname was written as Kutta (dog) on a ration card instead of Dutta. The incident is of the Bankura district of West Bengal.

In the video, the man, named Srikanti Dutta, can be seen vigorously woofing and trembling like a dog as he hands his documents to the Block District Officer (BDO) after the authorities failed to correct his name in a ration card for the third time.

Shrikant was seen walking alongside the car, displaying documents to the officer sitting inside. The official initially seemed perplexed by the man’s peculiar behaviour but later accepted his application. After carefully reading it, the officer passes it to a man who is standing next to his car and instructs him to make the necessary corrections.

The man reportedly tried to change his last name multiple times with the help of the Bankura administration but was unsuccessful each time. He said he applied thrice to rectify his name in the ration card.

He said the first time they printed his name Srikanta Mondal. He is not Mondal so he went to Duarey Sarkar and applied for rectification. Then they made his name Srikanto Dutta instead of Srikanti Kumar Dutta. He applied to Duarey Sarkar camp again.

On the 11th, he said he applied again for rectification and when he downloaded it, he noticed his name was changed to Srikanti Kumar Kutta. He stated that when he saw this, he felt mentally harassed. He went to the Duarey Sarkar camp again yesterday but the officer didn’t listen to his query and ran away, he said.

Srikanti’s mother stated that the persons in charge of making these documents should have been careful. It is a huge defamation. The ones who make these lists are illiterates? Can anyone’s name be Kutta? She angrily said his son has a store, and people know him. What kind of treatment is this?

In yet another pursuit of name change of the cities, the Ahmednagar district in Maharashtra will now be known as Ahilyanagar, announced state Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday.

The district has been renamed after the 18th century ruler of then Indore state Ahilyadevi Holkar.

CM Shinde while speaking at an event to mark the 298th birth anniversary of Ahilyadevi or famously known as Ahilyabai at Choundi in Ahmednagar district, the birthplace of the erstwhile ruler, announced the decision.

Ahilya Bai was born to Mankoji Shinde and Sushila Shinde, a Marathi Hindu family.
