Ace designer Manish Malhotra announces his production house, Stage 5 Production

Famous designer Manish Malhotra, who designed several famous costumes for Bollywood films, announced the name of his production company.  Manish Malhotra introduced his production company, called Stage 5 Production, on Friday on his Instagram account. After three long decades designing costumes for motion pictures, he decided to launch his own production company with the intention of working with great writers, artists, and filmmakers who had a distinctive vision.

Immediately following the announcement, Manish received congratulations from friends in the film business including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karan Johar, Kajol, and Abhishek Bachchan.

Sharing the news on Instagram, he wrote, ever since his childhood there’s a certain calling he’s had for Clothes, Colours, and Films. He further wrote, that he was fascinated by fabrics, textures, and music and watched every film wide-eyed longing to be a part of Indian Cinema one day. My fascination with clothes led me to become a costume designer and then to start my Label after many years, the designer added.

In the long Instagram post, while making the announcement for his new venture, he wrote, today after gratifying 3 decades of being in the movies he presents STAGE5 Production. Manish Malhotra explained the functioning of his production house, Stage 5 Production and, said it is a company that will support many artistic viewpoints from across the world and take delight in the diversity of stories, working with directors, writers, and artists that are not only skilled but also have a fresh new perspective.

Three films are scheduled for Manish Malhotra, one of which is a comeback movie for Zeenat Aman. He said during an interview, Tisca Chopra is directing one movie, Sheer Korma director Faraz Ansari is helming Bun Tikki, and Taj director Vibhoo Poori will be directing another movie. Mnaish said, his production features actors like Vijay Varma, Radhika Apte, Divyendhu, Abhay Deol, Shabana Azmi, and Zeenat Aman. In Faraz Ansari’s Bun Tikki, Zeenat Aman will be seen.

Manish Malhotra has also said that he will be helming a biopic on the legendary Bollywood actor Meena Kumari. With this movie, in which Kriti Sanon plays the lead, he will make his directing debut.

Veteran actor Mushtaq Khan, who appeared in several Hindi films and was particularly remembered for his role in the 2007 comedy Welcome, has died at the age of 56.

Khan was known for playing supporting characters across Hindi cinema and had worked in films spanning several decades. His role as Balu in Welcome remains among his best-known performances.

Mushtaq Khan’s film career

Mushtaq Khan appeared in a wide range of films during his career. His filmography included Aashiqui, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Gopi Kishan, Krantiveer, Raja, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Jodi No. 1 and Hera Pheri.

He also featured in more recent films including Stree 2, Gadar 2, Baby John, Dhoom Dhaam and Jaat. His filmography lists acting work continuing into 2026.

In Welcome, Khan played Balu, a supporting character in the comedy starring Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor and other prominent actors.

Khan’s career also included television work, with his credits spanning a wide range of acting roles over the years.

Mushtaq Khan dies at 56

The actor’s death was reported on September 24, 2026. Reports said Khan had been undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with liver cancer and had been hospitalised for around 15 days. Further details surrounding his death were awaited in the initial reports.

Mushtaq Khan was 56. IMDb lists his date of birth as December 31, 1969.

The newborn is the couple’s second daughter. Deepika and Ranveer became parents for the first time in September 2024, when they welcomed their daughter Dua.

Just a day before the announcement, Deepika Padukone visited Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak Temple with Ranveer Singh and his parents.

Deepika was seen wearing an orange and purple kurta set, while Ranveer wore a purple kurta with white trousers. The visit came as the couple awaited the arrival of their second child.

Interestingly, the couple had also visited Siddhivinayak Temple in September 2024, shortly before the birth of their first daughter Dua.
