Modern Love Mumbai delves into six distinct yet universal tales of human connection and love in all of its forms: romantic, platonic, parental, sexual, familial, marital, and self-love.

The six episodes of Modern Love Mumbai are Raat Rani (helmed by Alankrita Shrivastava), Baai (helmed by Vishal Bhardwaj), Mumbai Dragon (helmed by Hansal Mehta), My Beautiful Wrinkles (helmed by Dhruv Sehgal), I Love Thane (helmed by Sonali Bose) and Cutting Chai (helmed by Nupur Asthana). Each episode has a different cast that focused on various aspects of love.

This version of the enormously successful original version of the same name Modern Love, inspired by the acclaimed New York Times column, illuminates love in all of its intricate and glorious forms against the backdrop of Mumbai, the city of dreams.

The short films, which are typically around 40 minutes long, show men and women as they tackle matters of the heart and soul in a thriving city where every day brings a new surprise, sometimes delightful, sometimes bewildering.

Modern Love Mumbai is made valuable by women, both fictitious characters and the performers who portray them, regardless of the director’s gender or the essential bent of any story.

People have mixed reactions while watching this series. Some are calling it a beautiful series with a refreshing take on love while others feel the concept of each story in the Mumbai version of Modern Love overlaps and the core subject seems lost.

One of the users wrote the urge to not study for my last viva tomorrow and watch this, while another wrote, binged watched Modern Mumbai Love, and totally loved it.

Another user commented, just watched all episodes of Modern Love Mumbai, I liked only the first episode(Raat Ki Rani) but the rest are not worthy.

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur starrer Jersey is all set for its OTT release. The sports drama is a Hindi remake of the National Award-winning Telugu film Jersey starring South Superstars like Nani, Shraddha Srinath, Harish Kalyan, Sathyaraj, and Sampath Raj.

The Hindi remake will release on Netflix on May 20. The official social media handle the streamer made this announcement. While sharing the poster of Jersey, they captioned it as, “If you see us tearing up, it’s because we just watched Jersey and we can’t wait for you to catch it too. Jersey arrives on Netflix on 20th May.”

The makers of Jersey had lot of expectation from the film, they even delayed the movie four times to save it from big clashes and Covid-19 restrictions but still the movie failed to impress audience at the box office. Jersey somehow managed to collect just 19 to 20 crores at the box office and was added to the list of flop films.

However, the lead actors of the film, Shahid Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapoor were applauded for their acting performance but the original movie will always stand out in comparison. Moreover, the film was also affected by the Bollywood films like Runway 34 and Heropanti, starring Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff respectively. But the major defeat was given by the monstrous release of KGF Chapter 2. The Yash starrer, KGF Chapter 2 is continuing to hamper the growth of several films by breaking numerous records.

The original movie Jersey staring Nani was huge hit at Telugu box office and also received the ‘Best Telugu Film’ and ‘Best Editing’ award at the 67th National Awards. It is a story of a father and his unconditional love for his son. Meanwhile there is also a part of his love story with his wife but the story revolves around the hero, his love for cricket and his undying determination to make his son proud.
