SS Rajamouli announces his next film, Made In India, a biopic on Indian Cinema

After mesmerising viewers with films like RRR, Baahbuali, and others, filmmaker SS Rajamouli is back with another masterpiece. The critically famous director is working on a film that will tell the story of Indian cinema. The biopic titled ‘Made In India’ is produced by Rajamouli’s son SS Karthikeya and Varun Gupta. Nitin Kakkar will direct the biopic.

The filmmaker is excited about presenting the story of the birth and rise of Indian cinema. According to Rajamouli’s spokesman, the film will be a magnum opus on a massive scale and canvas. He also said Rajamouli has no plans of directing the film.

After building up excitement and interest, the filmmaker made the announcement with a video on Twitter. The Oscar-winning director wrote the narration and moved him emotionally like nothing else when he first heard it. He also said, making a biopic is difficult enough, but making one about the Father Of Indian Cinema is even more difficult. The proud father said, our boys are prepared and enthusiastic. He further announced the film, Made In India with great pride, on Twitter.

Soon after the announcement of Made in India, film fans showed their enthusiasm for the idea. Please concentrate more on our next directorial than this one sir, one user said. Another user wrote, they have been waiting for more than ten years. Others wrote, pride of Indian Cinema making a cinema of Made In India.

SS Rajamouli is taking a break from work. He will shortly begin pre-production on his forthcoming film starring Mahesh Babu.

Meanwhile, Rajamouli is making headlines for a very other reason. It is rumoured that he would have a cameo role in Prabhas Kalki 2898 AD. Rajamouli previously appeared in Baahubali: The Beginning as a cameo. Not only that, but he had made cameo appearances in his flicks and acted in a few advertisements.

However, there is no official confirmation of Rajamouli’s appearance in Kalki 2898 AD has been announced.

Veteran actor Mushtaq Khan, who appeared in several Hindi films and was particularly remembered for his role in the 2007 comedy Welcome, has died at the age of 56.

Khan was known for playing supporting characters across Hindi cinema and had worked in films spanning several decades. His role as Balu in Welcome remains among his best-known performances.

Mushtaq Khan’s film career

Mushtaq Khan appeared in a wide range of films during his career. His filmography included Aashiqui, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Gopi Kishan, Krantiveer, Raja, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Jodi No. 1 and Hera Pheri.

He also featured in more recent films including Stree 2, Gadar 2, Baby John, Dhoom Dhaam and Jaat. His filmography lists acting work continuing into 2026.

In Welcome, Khan played Balu, a supporting character in the comedy starring Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor and other prominent actors.

Mushtaq Khan dies at 56

The actor’s death was reported on September 24, 2026. Reports said Khan had been undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with liver cancer and had been hospitalised for around 15 days. Further details surrounding his death were awaited in the initial reports.

Mushtaq Khan was 56. IMDb lists his date of birth as December 31, 1969.
