Former US President Donald Trump’s Florida home raided by FBI, Republican leader calls it prosecutorial misconduct
This comes as he prepares for a possible third presidential run in 2024.

Former US President Donald Trump said that his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida was raided by FBI agents on Monday. However, there is no official confirmation about the reason for the raid from the federal government, but there are reports that the search was conducted in relation to the potential mishandling of classified documents that had been sent to Mar-a-Lago.
The FBI declined to comment on the reason for the raid, but US media reports state that the probe is related to documents that the former President may have taken to Mar-a-Lago on leaving the White House.
Trump has called the unprecedented search an act of prosecutorial misconduct. This comes as he prepares for a possible third presidential run in 2024.
The ex-president posted a statement on his Truth Social platform, where he said that his beautiful home, Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents. He further said that it (raid) is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the justice system, and an attack by radical left Democrats who desperately don’t want him to run for President in 2024.

Trump said such an assault could only take place in broken, third-world countries. Sadly, America has now become one of those countries, he said, adding, they even broke into my safe!
The US media news channel reported that the former President was in Trump Tower in New York City at the time of the raid.
Eric Trump, the ex-president’s second-oldest son said that the FBI’s execution of search on Trump’s Florida residence was related to an investigation into the handling of National Archives records.
Earlier in February, the National Archives, the US government agency retrieved 15 boxes from Mar-a-Lago, some of which contained classified records. By law, US presidents must submit all of their letters, official papers, and emails to the National Archives.
However, according to officials, the former president ripped up various documents without consent. The Archives said some of them had to be taped back together. When the allegations of inappropriately handling government papers first surfaced, Trump dismissed them as fake news.
