Whether it’s a birthday or a proposal or a get-together or even a wedding, celebrating in a special way is always on our cards. Now, you can count on Indian Railways to make your day a remarkable one. It’s no secret that getting a confirmed seat on an Indian Railways train requires a lot of time, planning, and effort. But don’t be concerned; there is something that can be done.

Indian Railways will now let you book the coach or entire train without going through a lot of hassle for reservation. Now, IRCTC is giving you an option to book a whole train for marriage processions and pilgrimage.

The process of getting a group ticket from the railways has recently been simplified, making it quite simple to book an entire train. Passengers can now make reservations at the railway station closest to them.

According to sources, the IRCTC website can also be used to book a train. It should be noted that for group bookings, an additional 30 percent must be paid on each ticket. A maximum of 10 coaches on Full Tariff Rate (FTR) in a train in one tour programme can be booked by a group.

The registration fee for booking a train for up to seven days of the tour is Rs 50,000 per coach, according to the Indian Railways website. Following that, an extra Rs 10,000 per day/per coach will be charged, which will be deducted from the registration fee. If the Ministry of Railways makes any revisions, the cost may vary. Booking an eighteen-coach train, on the other hand, costs Rs 1 lakh. Taxes will be added at a later stage.

How to book an entire train/coach?

To begin the process, send a letter to the Chief Reservation Supervisor, including the date of the trip, train number, number of berths required, and a list of passengers.

The controlling office that oversees the reservation office must approve this request.

Once your request has been approved, you can book your coach at the bulk ticket counter.

You will be given a reference number after submitting your request, and you will be required to pay a registration fee.

FTR registration can be done up to six months in advance and minimum of 30 days before the trip.

The BJP is preparing a major organisational and electoral strategy in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2027 Assembly election, with the party considering dropping more than 100 sitting MLAs from its candidate list.

The proposed changes are part of a broader effort to address internal differences within the party, strengthen its organisation and reconnect with voters across the state.

BJP’s plan for Uttar Pradesh

The party’s strategy involves reviewing the performance and prospects of its sitting legislators before deciding on candidates for the next Assembly election. More than 100 MLAs could potentially be denied tickets as part of the exercise.

The focus is also on resolving internal rifts and improving coordination within the organisation. The BJP is looking to address issues that emerged during the 2024 Lok Sabha election and strengthen its connect with voters.

The party’s review comes as it prepares for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly election, where it will seek to strengthen its position across the state.

Focus on internal differences and voters

Along with changes to its pool of candidates, the BJP is working on repairing differences within the organisation.

The party’s strategy places emphasis on reconnecting with voters and understanding issues at the ground level. Leaders and workers are expected to focus on strengthening the party’s presence among voters as preparations for the Assembly election continue.

The approach reflects the BJP’s effort to draw lessons from its performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha election and make organisational changes ahead of the next major electoral contest in Uttar Pradesh.

Candidate changes under consideration

The possibility of dropping over 100 sitting MLAs would represent a significant change in the BJP’s candidate strategy in the state. However, the final decision on individual tickets will depend on the party’s assessment and the selection process.

The BJP is therefore combining a review of its sitting legislators with efforts to resolve internal differences and rebuild its connection with voters as it prepares for the 2027 polls.
