Citing the need to highlight the country’s sporting talents and their potentials to the world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated the Khelo India School Games (KISG) at the events opening ceremony at the Indira Gandhi stadium in New Delhi.
Addressing the gathering at the ceremony – which showcased the ‘Guru-Shishya’ tradition of the country – the Prime Minister said that sports should be placed at the centre of the lives of the country’s youth.
“Sports are important means of personality development and Khelo India is not a programme, it’s a mission. The Games will highlight India’s young sporting talent and showcase India’s sports potential,” said PM Modi.
“Khelo India is not only about winning medals. It is an effort to give strength to a mass movement for playing more. We want to focus on every aspect that would make sports more popular across the nation,” he added.[/vc_column_text][vc_raw_html]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[/vc_raw_html][vc_column_text]Further urging the Indian youth to take up sports actively for the better development of the country, Modi said, “When we say India has to grow on the world stage, it does not only mean having a strong army & powerful economy.
