The funny trailer of Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar’s film Govinda Naam Mera has been released. The trailer looks very promising, with Vicky’s completely different style, while Kiara and Bhumi are also making their presence felt. This is for the first time that Vicky Kaushal is doing a comedy-masala movie.

Fans are loving Vicky Kaushal’s style in Govinda Naam Mera trailer very much. The snippet has quite a range from comedy to suspense in the trailer. Seems like the film is based on Murder but Shashank Khaitan has given the right comedy tadka to this film. Bhumi and Vicky are in the role of husband and wife in the film, but the trailer reveals that Vicky is not happy with his wife and wants to divorce her.

At the same time, instead of divorce, Bhumi demands crores of rupees from her husband. On the other hand, Bhumi has a boyfriend of her own while Govinda too has a girl friend, which is played by Kiara Advani. And the movie seems to be dealing with the hilarious turns their respective lives would take.

Vicky, Kiara and Bhumi have released the trailer of the film on their Instagram account. The film was earlier set to release on June 10 this year, but now the film will be released on Disney Plus Hotstar on 16 December. All the three actors are looking excited about the film. The cast of the film has now started promoting the film through social media. Earlier, Vicky Kaushal was seen talking to Karan Johar about the film and shared a video on his Insta account.

On the work front, Vicky Kaushal has a glut of films in his kitty at the moment. Apart from Govinda Naam Mera, he has Laxman Utekar’s untitled film, in which Sara Ali Khan will be seen sharing screen space with him for the first time. Both have finished shooting for the film few days back.

Apart from this, the actor has an untitled movie with Anand Tiwari. Fans are also eagerly waiting for Sam Bahadur, which is a biopic. The story of Sam Bahadur is based on the biography of the brave war hero and first Field Marshal of India, Sam Manekshaw. The film will mark Kaushal’s second collaboration with Meghna Gulzar after Raazi.

Blending historical terror incidents with a fictional revenge saga, the film explores India’s covert response to cross-border terrorism through the secret project ‘Dhurandhar’.

A brutal world built around revenge and espionage

Set around the IC-814 Kandahar hijack and the 2001 Parliament attack, Dhurandhar opens with Ajay Sanyal, an Intelligence Bureau officer played by R Madhavan, who strongly opposes releasing captured terrorists. Despite his resistance, bureaucracy prevails, setting the stage for the covert mission he later leads.

The project introduces its central weapon — Humza Ali Mazari, later revealed to be Jaskirat Singh Rangil — portrayed by Ranveer Singh with ferocity and emotional depth. Dropped straight into Karachi’s dangerous Lyari district, Humza navigates a nexus of gangs, politicians, and the ISI, with the narrative also touching upon tensions between local Pakistanis and Baloch communities.

Performances that elevate the film

Akshaye Khanna nearly steals the spotlight as a feared Lyari gangster inspired by Rehman ‘Dakait’ Baloch. Sanjay Dutt’s portrayal of SP Chaudhry Aslam brings an intimidating presence, while Arjun Rampal’s Major Iqbal leaves a lingering impact despite limited screen time.

Sara Arjun plays Yalina with conviction, and the film also features an unrecognisable Gaurav Gera in a surprise appearance.
