The crime thriller Animal released in theatres in December 2023, it caused quite a stir and became an enormous box office triumph. With an ensemble cast that included Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor the movie received a tonne of recognition for its captivating story and outstanding performances.

The central theme of the story is Ranvijay’s infatuation with his father, Balbir Singh (Anil Kapoor), who has been ignoring him since he was a young child. Bobby Deol portrays a silent evil in a way that is impressive to see, and he gives a fascinating performance as the antagonist. As Geetanjali, Ranbir’s wife entangled in the poisonous web of their father-son connection, Rashmika Mandanna plays the part. Triptii Dimri portrays Zoya, a character whose identity is kept a secret until the movie’s premiere.

Under the banners of T-Series Films, Bhadrakali Pictures, and Cine1 Studios, the film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga, and Murad Khetani. It is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who is well-known for his work on Kabir Singh.

Batwara 1947 has had a disappointing run at the box office, and actor Shabana Azmi has now shared her thoughts on why the film may not have connected with audiences. According to Azmi, one possible reason could be the difficulty some viewers had in accepting Sunny Deol as a Muslim character.

The film, which also features Preity Zinta and Shabana Azmi, was released on August 14. It has reportedly earned around Rs 53 crore so far, while Awarapan 2, which released on the same day, has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark.
