The much-anticipated mythological epic Ramayana: Part 1, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, has officially completed its filming schedule. A celebratory video from the film’s set has surfaced, capturing lead actors Ranbir Kapoor and Ravi Dubey embracing warmly during the shoot wrap-up event.
Ranbir Kapoor, who portrays Lord Ram, and Ravi Dubey, cast as Lakshman, were seen cutting a cake and exchanging hugs in a video that quickly made its way online. Director Nitesh Tiwari also addressed the cast and crew with a heartfelt speech, though the audio wasn’t entirely clear.
First glimpse of ‘Ramayana: Part 1’ set for July 3
With the shoot now complete, the makers are gearing up to unveil the first look of the film on July 3, 2025. According to the official invite, the release will mark a “landmark cinematic event” in Indian cinema, setting the tone for one of its most ambitious mythological projects.
The film boasts a star-studded ensemble, with Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi playing Sita, Yash in the role of Ravana, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.
Ranbir Kapoor to miss first-look event
Soon after wrapping his schedule, Ranbir Kapoor was spotted departing for a vacation with his wife Alia Bhatt, mother Neetu Kapoor, and daughter Raha. The actor will reportedly miss the Mumbai-based first look reveal scheduled for July 3.
Aiming for global impact with localisation technology
Speaking earlier this year at a global summit, producer Namit Malhotra emphasized the team’s intent to make Ramayana resonate with international audiences. He discussed the use of advanced technology to localize the film seamlessly in multiple languages—including English, Spanish, and Japanese—with matching lip-sync performance.
Malhotra highlighted that their core objective remains telling authentic stories rooted in Indian mythology while ensuring global cinematic appeal without compromising the emotional and cultural depth of the narrative.
With Ramayana: Part 1 set to release around Diwali next year, anticipation continues to rise for what is being touted as a visually rich and emotionally grounded retelling of the timeless epic.
