A viral video shared on X has sparked concerns regarding the safety measures employed by OLA Cabs for their passengers. The footage, which has since circulated widely online, features a cab driver from Mumbai watching omelette-making recipe videos while navigating a busy road. The passenger, who recorded the video and posted it on his X account, criticized OLA for the driver’s reckless behavior.

An X user known as Dark Knight shared the video, stating, “Dear Ola, your driver is learning how to cook an omelette while driving, risking our lives. With your scooters already facing issues like catching fire, I hope you implement corrective measures before this situation escalates further.”

In addition to condemning the driver’s actions, he also noted the ongoing problems with OLA’s scooters spontaneously igniting, which have resulted in numerous customer complaints. Dark Knight urged the company to take immediate action regarding this current issue.

Mumbai Police acknowledged the viral video and responded to the user’s post, writing, “Please share the exact location so we can inform @MTPHereToHelp.”

As of now, there have been no reports of legal consequences for the cab driver. Nonetheless, this incident highlights a significant concern about distracted driving in busy areas. The driver’s negligence could potentially lead to a serious accident, jeopardizing both the passengers’ safety and that of other road users.

The video, taken by Khule while seated in the backseat, shows the driver’s phone positioned next to the steering wheel, playing a reel on how to make an omelette. He can be seen swiping up for the next video, which features clips from the TV show Big Boss, all while continuing to drive.

In his criticism of the driver, Khule also called attention to the frequent incidents of OLA scooters catching fire, emphasizing the need for the company to address the growing number of customer complaints.

After the video gained traction, OLA Support responded to Khule, requesting additional details about the cab driver to facilitate an investigation. They stated, “We find this matter deeply concerning, Rohan. Please share the CRN of this ride via DM so we can investigate and assist you as soon as possible.”

Baby John box office Day 1: Varun Dhawan starrer opens at Rs 12.5 crore

Directed by Kalees and co-produced by Atlee and Priya Atlee, Baby John is the Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster Theri, which starred Vijay in the leading role.

December 25, Christmas Day, presented a varied landscape for Bollywood, as Varun Dhawan’s highly anticipated film, Baby John, debuted to relatively modest earnings. Tracking website Sacnilk reported that the film generated approximately Rs 12.5 crore on its opening day in India.

Despite being released during the holiday season, Baby John could not surpass the impressive performance of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, which garnered Rs 19.75 crore on its 21st day in theaters. The ongoing success of Pushpa 2, along with the favorable reception of Mufasa, significantly overshadowed Baby John’s box office performance.

In this action-oriented film, Varun Dhawan was initially projected to collect Rs 13 crore on its first day, but ultimately fell short of expectations, partly due to mixed critical reviews.

On its release day, Baby John, which features Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Jackie Shroff, achieved a Hindi occupancy rate of 24.97%, with evening shows reaching a higher occupancy of 30.89%.

Despite facing negative critiques, Baby John achieved Varun Dhawan’s highest opening in five years at the box office. For context, Bhediya opened with Rs 7.48 crore, while Jugjugg Jeeyo netted Rs 9.28 crore on its premiere day.

The competitive landscape sharpened with Christmas releases such as Pushpa 2, Mufasa, and the Kannada action thriller Max, featuring Kichcha Sudeep. Remarkably, Max emerged as a sleeper hit, recording a historic Rs 10 crore opening for a Kannada film in 2024. Bolstered by strong word-of-mouth, it is expected to enjoy a thriving extended weekend.

Notably, Baby John signifies Varun Dhawan’s return to the big screen after his digital project Citadel: Honey Bunny, aired in October. As the competition heats up, the forthcoming days will be pivotal for Baby John to establish its box office credentials.

Directed by Kalees and co-produced by Atlee and Priya Atlee, Baby John is the Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster Theri, which starred Vijay in the leading role.

Ravi Shastri criticizes Virat Kohli for clash with debutant Sam Konstas as ICC fines him

Ravi Shastri criticizing Virat Kohli for his on-field clash with Sam Konstas during the 4th Test in Melbourne

Former India coach Ravi Shastri has expressed his dissatisfaction with Virat Kohli following a fiery on-field confrontation during the opening day of the fourth Test between India and Australia in Melbourne. Kohli, known for his fiery demeanor, was involved in a clash with Australia’s young opener Sam Konstas early on Day 1. The incident took place during the ninth over of the day, when both players shoulder-barged each other. Kohli, visibly irritated, turned around to give Konstas an intense glare and exchanged words with the 19-year-old.

Despite the heated moment, the International Cricket Council (ICC) deemed the incident a Level 1 offence, resulting in a 20% fine of Kohli’s match fees instead of a suspension. This came after former Australian captain Ricky Ponting suggested that Kohli had been in the wrong. However, the 36-year-old star managed to avoid a more severe penalty.

Ravi Shastri, who had a close relationship with Kohli during his tenure as India’s head coach, weighed in on the matter. Speaking on Fox Cricket, Shastri called the clash “totally unnecessary,” adding, “You don’t want to see that. Virat’s a senior player, he’s been captain of the side, and while he’ll have his own explanations regarding that, it’s something you don’t want to see.”

Shastri further commented with a lighthearted remark about the situation, mentioning ICC match referee Andy Pycroft, who was overseeing the Boxing Day Test. Pycroft, marking his 100th Test match as a referee, will no doubt be keeping an eye on such incidents, Shastri joked.

Although Kohli was reprimanded with a fine, the incident was not the only time the Indian cricketer displayed frustration on Day 1. Later during the same day, a stump mic caught Kohli telling teammate Mohammed Siraj to “not smile while talking” to Australian players. This further highlighted Kohli’s animated mood throughout the match.

As for the match itself, Australia dominated Day 1, finishing with a strong total of 311/6 at stumps. All four of Australia’s top-order batsmen scored half-centuries, putting the hosts in a commanding position.

The clash between Kohli and Konstas, although minor in terms of penalties, has certainly grabbed attention, sparking conversations about the behavior of senior players on the field.
