Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor and television star Arjun Bijlani share an unexpected connection—they were schoolmates and teammates on the same football team.

During the promotional events for Shamshera, Ranbir disclosed this little-known fact about his school days while appearing on the TV show Ravivaar With Star Parivaar. This revelation delighted fans, revealing the intriguing bond between the two, both of whom have achieved remarkable success in their respective fields. Their shared history adds a nostalgic touch to their journeys in the world of entertainment.

On the show, Ranbir shared that both he and Arjun attended Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai, saying, “Log jaante nahi hai yeh magar hum ek dusre ko bachpan se jaante hain” (people might not realize that we have known each other since childhood). He further expressed joy at witnessing Arjun Bijlani flourish in the industry, stating, “The fact that you are a father and such a fantastic host is really heartwarming. It’s wonderful to see a friend and colleague doing so well.”

In a heartwarming moment on set, Ranbir lifted and hugged Arjun, capturing the affection of their long-lasting friendship. Fans of both actors were pleasantly surprised by this revelation. Later, Arjun explained to ETimes that he had held back from mentioning their past, as they were focused on work while filming. “I admire him as an actor; he’s remarkable. At that moment, I thought he was there to promote his film, and even though we are childhood friends, it wasn’t necessary to bring that up,” he noted.

Arjun clarified that he hadn’t asked his production team to plan a reunion with Ranbir, emphasizing that Ranbir had spontaneously and completely initiated the interaction. “It was a spontaneous moment. I never brought it up; I was just doing my job. He suddenly stopped me and said it,” he added.

Reflecting on the experience, Arjun said, “Now, I have a memory to cherish with my childhood friend. Seeing him achieve so much and become a superstar was a wonderful feeling. Everyone on set got emotional—it was genuinely special.”

Ranbir Kapoor began his career in the entertainment industry with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya in 2007, while Arjun Bijlani made his debut in 2004 with Balaji Telefilms’ show Kartika. Over the years, both have made significant strides in their careers, establishing themselves as talented performers in their domains.
