After the blockbuster success of Aashiqui, the makers are reportedly planning to make a sequel, Aashiqui 3, with none other than B-town heartthrob Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan. If reports are to be believed, the ex-couple will be starring together for the second time after Love Aaj Kal 2.

The duo will reunite for the third installment of the original Aashiqui film series which was released twenty-two years ago. There are also reports that Pankaj Tripathi will also be seen in a pivotal role in the film.

However, fans are not happy with the casting. People showed displeasure and demanded a new pair. One of the users wrote, Aashiqui 3 k liye Sara Ali Khan bilkul sahi nhi hai kyunki usey acting nhi aati aur yeh bhot badi movie hai toh usey cast nhi krna chahiye. Koi new pair hona chahiye.

Another user commented that Sara should not be in the film. He also mentioned that Sara and Kartik don’t look good together. “Isse acha Jennifer Winget ko lelo, bacha lo iss film ko,” said another.

Aashiqui 3 will be based on the Hindi adaptation of Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Aashiqui 3 will be bankrolled by T-Series and Vishesh Films, and the songs will be composed by none other than Pritam. The film will be directed by Anurag Basu, who is known for superhit films like Ludo, Jagga Jasoos, and Barfi.

Speaking about the franchise, Aashiqui was released in 1990 by T-Series and Vishesh Films. While Aashiqui, directed by Mahesh Bhatt, featured Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal, Mohit Suri helmed Aashiqui 2 (2013), starring Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.

Actor Pooja Hegde has been actively promoting her new film, Deva, where she stars alongside Shahid Kapoor. However, her remarks regarding her 2020 film, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, which featured Allu Arjun, have sparked confusion and anger online. Pooja referred to Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo as a Tamil film rather than a pan-India film. Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, the movie was primarily in Telugu and achieved significant box office success.

In an interview with ANI, while promoting Deva, she stated, “Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is actually a Tamil film; it was not a pan-India film. But, people watched it in Hindi. So, if the work is good, it will reach people.”

The internet’s reaction to her comments was overwhelmingly negative, with fans expressing their disappointment on social media.

Many criticized Pooja for her seemingly ignorant comment and for lacking respect for the industry despite her involvement in it. One user remarked, “Tollywood should boycott such actresses. Give more chances to our Telugu actresses.”

Another added, “Even if it was a slip of the tongue, it’s a serious mistake for a South Indian actress, especially about her own project!” Comments included remarks like “Urvashi 2.0,” referencing Urvashi Rautela, as well as suggestions that she confused Tollywood with the Tamil film industry.

One user quipped, “She must have forgotten the hero’s name.” Another expressed frustration: “This is not at all correct; when you are working here, you should at least know that.”

Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, written and directed by Trivikram Srinivas, featured an ensemble cast including Allu Arjun, Pooja Hegde, Tabu, Jayaram, Sushanth, and Nivetha Pethuraj. Produced by Allu Aravind and S. Radha Krishna, the film became the second highest-grossing Indian film of 2020 and won the National Award for Best Music Direction. A Hindi remake titled Shehzada, starring Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon, was released in 2022.

The upcoming Bollywood romantic comedy, Mere Husband Ki Biwi, promises a whirlwind of comedic chaos and complicated relationships. The recently released trailer introduces Arjun Kapoor navigating a “love circle” far more intricate than a simple love triangle. His character finds himself entangled between his ex-wife, Bhumi Pednekar, and his current flame, Rakul Preet Singh. The comedic premise hinges on Bhumi’s unexpected retrograde amnesia, resulting in her forgetting the past five to six years of her life, including her marriage to Arjun.

As Bhumi gradually recovers her memories, Arjun’s affection for Rakul becomes increasingly apparent, throwing him into a hilarious predicament. The trailer showcases the ensuing comedic rivalry between Bhumi and Rakul, both vying for Arjun’s attention and affection. Their competitive pursuit of Arjun’s heart forms the core of the film’s humour, filled with witty banter and escalating attempts to win him over. Adding to the comedic mix is Harsh Gujral, playing Arjun’s supportive friend, who likely provides crucial (and perhaps hilariously misguided) advice amidst the romantic turmoil.

The trailer’s release generated a buzz online, with viewers expressing varied opinions. Some drew comparisons to the earlier romantic comedy De De Pyaar De, highlighting a similar theme of complex relationships and age differences. However, some viewers expressed concern that the trailer lacked the comedic punch expected from the genre. Others applauded the innovative approach to the trailer’s presentation, noting the creative integration of the actors’ real lives into the trailer’s narrative. The overall reception indicates a significant level of anticipation, with many hoping the film will deliver on its comedic promise.

Directed by Mudassar Aziz, known for his successful comedies Pati Patni Aur Woh and Khel Khel Mein, Mere Husband Ki Biwi boasts a stellar cast. Along with Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, and Rakul Preet Singh, the film features Dino Morea, Shakti Kapoor, and Harsh Gujral in supporting roles. Produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, and Deepshikha Deshmukh under the banner of Puja Films, the film is set for a theatrical release on February 21st, 2025. The anticipation is high to see if Mere Husband Ki Biwi can successfully navigate the comedic tightrope it has set for itself.
