16 years of Mani Ratnam’s Guru: Abhishek Bachchan shares heartfelt video, says the film still remains close to his heart

Guru, Mani Ratnam’s directorial, is regarded as one of the best works of Abhishek Bachchan. Co-starring Aishwarya Rai, the film was said to be a biopic of Dhirubhai Ambani, however, Ratnam had dismissed the claims back then.
The film completed 16 years on January 12 and on the occasion, Bachchan shared a heartfelt video. Tweeting a montage video of his character Gurukant Desai, the actor wrote that the film still remains close to his heart.

Alongside Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Guru also starred Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, Madhavan, and Roshan Seth in important roles. The film was first premiered at the Elgin Theatre in Toronto and became the first Indian film to get a mainstream international premiere in Canada.
Guru was co-written and directed by Mani Ratnam, director of photography Rajiv Menon, edited by Sreekar Prasad, music by A. R. Rahman, choreography by Saroj Khan and Brinda, production designer, Sameer Chanda, produced by Ratnam and G Srinivasan and was released by Adlabs Films.
The plot of the film was set in 1951 in the small village of Idar, northern Gujarat. The film revolved around a young boy Gurukant Desai who dreamed to make it big. The rest of the film takes the audience through his journey of becoming a business tycoon and how it affects his life both personally and professionally.
Abhishek Bachchan received rave reviews from both the critics and the audience for his performance in the film. In total, Guru collected more than Rs 83.67 crore worldwide and was declared a blockbuster hit.
Apart from its storyline, the film also won plaudits for its layered music composed by the legendary AR Rahman. Its songs Tera Bina, Barso Rey, and Ay Hairathe broke all records and made it to everyone’s playlist.

Adipurush: Ranbir Kapoor to book 10,000 tickets for underprivileged children

Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer Adipurush is all set to hit the screen on June 16. Ahead of the release, today it was confirmed that 10,000 tickets for Adipursh will be reserved by Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor for unprivileged children.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced the news on his social media accounts confirming Ranbir’s involvement in the film. He tweeted a poster of Adipurush and wrote, “#Xclusiv… RANBIR KAPOOR TO BOOK 10,000 TICKETS OF ‘ADIPURUSH’ FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN… AUTHENTIC POSTERIn addition to #RanbirKapoor, #Adipurush #Prabhas #KritiSanon #SaifAliKhan #SunnySingh #DevdattaNage is also used.
Om Raut film’s Adipurush, represents Indian cinema’s attempt to adapt one of the greatest mythical tales on the big screen. Prabhas will be seen playing Lord Ram in the film, with Kriti Sanon as Janaki and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh. Prabhas will collaborate with Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan for the first time.
The film has been made in Hindi and Telugu in order for a pan-Indian release.
With a massive budget of Rs 500 crore, Adipurush is said to be one of the most expensive films ever produced in the film industry. ‘Panipat’, a high-budget period drama from Ashutosh Gowarikar, was Krti’s first high-budget period production.
Meanwhile, Tollywood producer Abhishek Agarwal, who holds the record of mega-hit films like The Kashmir Files and Kartikey 2, also announced to donate 10,000 free tickets for Prabhas’ epic mythological movie Adipurush.
He said, there is a lesson for humanity in every chapter of Lord Shri Ram. He needs to be known to this generation, and his Divine Footsteps must be followed.
Government schools, orphanages, and old age homes all over Telangana will be given tickets.

Actress Sonnalli Seygall of Pyaar Ka Punchnama is getting hitched to her longtime beau Asesh L Sajnani in a private wedding ceremony today. With a close-knit mehendi ceremony on Monday, the pre-wedding celebrations got underway.

She has since appeared in a number of other films, including Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. She last appeared in Jai Mummy Di, alongside Sunny Singh. She was seen in the web series Anamika, Out of Order, and Illegal – Justice. Her husband Ashesh Sajnani, owns a hotel. Ashesh and Sonnalli allegedly dated for five years while maintaining a secretive relationship.
